Well technically if a person were trying to emulate Christ, wouldn't they eschew firearms altogether?

I seem to recall some passage about "Living by the sword..." etc. But, hey, maybe that was just a literal thing and He meant just swords.

I think it depends on the reason why they have a gun. If it's for hunting, I don't think Jesus would care one way or the other. For protection, I'm not sure, though I would suspect that Jesus might lean away from the weapons. 

I'm pretty confident that though Jesus never owned a weapon himself (at least, I don't think he did), he didn't have a problem with HAVING them, more so with their usage especially if using them was as a show of force or to coerce or hurt others.
