Dude discovering that taking stances that hurt people is impopular.

The GOP's refusal to entertain (or at least admit publicly) the notion that young people might not like them for reasons that are sane and logical has me thinking that they aren't likely to win them over.  They come off like the incels of the political world.  Nah, it's not you, it's all of them.  Keep acting like a psycho and saying the only reason girls don't like you is because society programs them to be fem-nazis or something.

Just that old notion that people agree with your because they are using logic and wisdom, and people disagree with you because they're stupid and brainwashed.  Yep, I'm sure you'll meet the youth halfway any day now, GOP.  It's not your fault, you're perfect.  Never change.

It's interesting seeing the GOP admit they have issues and need to change in order to get back to winning elections, but they also have to blame it on liberals at the same time.  Ann Coulter was kvetching that conservatives need to stop stupidly backing Trump because he can't win, but she had to frame it in a way that absolved conservatives of culpability because liberals were "reverse psychology-ing" them into supporting Trump knowing that he was unelectable on the national level (as if conservatives didn't have a chance to experience 2016-2023).

I guess to them the first step to solving a problem is refusing to admit any fault and blaming it on "the liberals."  So liberals are brainwashed into being liberals, but liberals are also brainwashing conservatives into backing the wrong conservative politicians and policies....wacky.  Ann Coulter has always been of the "Everyone who doesn't agree with me is a complete moron" mentality, though.
