Reuben Randle, Hill, Givens
#1
Lightbulb
"Roobs", a 25yr old kid has averaged 800 receiving yards over the past three seasons as the NY Giants #2 WR, along with 20 TDs over his 4 year career "including 8 TD catches last year alone). He possesses plenty of physical talent + is an impressive redzone threat.

A 2012 2nd round pick out of LSU, he began his career as a quality wr3 (behind Cruz and Nicks in NY) but has never really "broken out" as more than an adequate wr2 in the league.

Skills and size are there, perhaps we could snag him @ around minimum wage and attempt to coach him up a bit.............

Once promising wrs Stephen Hill and Chris Givens were released today as well. Do any of these three sound like an upgrade over our current crew??

Randle is the only one I'd really like to take a look at. Little surprised he got cut, but they did get DGB so cuts had to be made.

Rueben Randle is awful folks. He makes Brandon LaFell looks like a #1 with sure fire hands. LaFell is already a running joke, we don't need another one.

What are you talking about?

Randle dropped 3 passes last year on 90 targets. Drop rate of 3.3%

LaFell dropped 6 passes last year on 74 targets. Drop rate of 8.1%

In 2014 Randle only had 4 drops on 114 targets. Drop rate of 3.2%
In 2013 Randle also had 4 drops on 79 targets. Drop rate of 5.1%

Randle doesn't have a hands problem.

Here's a write up comparing him to our own AJ Green coming out of college ?: http://newnfldraft.com/reuben-randle-2012-nfl-mock-draft/
I believe that Randle, based on talent alone, would've been the 1st WR selected if he had come out this year.

Word is that Reuben was playing unmotivated in Philly this summer (assuming that his job was quite secure) and that Philly's new HC wanted to "send a message" with his release. If I'm him right now, I would wanna play/practice motivated as hell on my next stop. That's really been the main knock on him since his college days; Skills are there, just needs to play inspired ball. I say let's see what coach Urban can do with this kid.......

Randle is God awful. Released by a team with no WR talent after getting no offers in the off-season. The Giants let him walk, he got a whole what, 1M a year in a year when Mo Sanu gets almost 7M? He can't run routes, he can't catch, he's got no upside. I'd rather roster all the backup WR's we have now.

Really? Huh. That's crazy.

Surprising to me that the past two seasons he has over 1,735 yards and 11 TDs as a #2 WR. I wonder how great he would be if he actually could catch or run routes. Huh. Crazy.

Oh, and throughout Sanu's career (57 games compared to 32) he has 1,793 yards and 11 TDs. And we've had him at a #2 and #1 WR as well.

Also, the Eagles released him because their starting WR corp is Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor, and Dorial Green-Beckham. They have WR talent. They ujust lack a legit QB.

I'd love Randle here on a 1 year deal... Even as  Simple insurance for lafell

Wouldn't mind bringing in Randle, just doubt we do unless Jeremy Hill makes a push for him with the coaches.

The Eagles WR are the worst in the NFL. Did you just tout Dorial Green-Beckham and Nelson Agholor as "good?"

Mo Sanu...5 years, 32.5M per year.

Rueben Randle...1 year, 3M per year. Oh, and he didn't even make it through 3 pre-season games before being cut.

Randle is younger, more-talented and productive, according to all of you. I guess NFL GM's are stupid too.

Lets see what teams with awful WR's pass on Randle this time...

Dude, just cause the idiot Falcons paid Mo that much doesn't make him a good Receiver either.

Randle, DGB and Agholor are way more talented than Mo Sanu. Sanu is just more versatile and the best QB/WR
to come around before Tyler Boyd. The Falcons GM is stupid for paying that much for Mo Sanu.

Heck, as long as kid accepts minimum wage, I'm keep him around another 4 years. I mean, he just turned 25 in May, and is an upgrade over Tate.............

I'd rather go with our young guys.

One guy that (always) intrigues me is Josh Boyce.

Wouldn't mind Reuben Randle to replace Tate as a WR. Tate may already be replaced as a return specialist with Alex Erickson.

EDIT - Tate cut this morning. So perhaps a new WR does come in that was cut from another team.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Patience has paid off!

Sorry for Party Rocking!

Did he step on your shoelaces one time man? Your blind hatred for him is a little absurd.

Agholor was a mistake of a first rounder who won't ever amount to anything. Second year in the system, reportedly can't beat press coverage, can't learn the plays enough to play the slot and can't get separation deep. What exactly can he do? Sounds like Rueben Randle. Any player with the athletic ability of these guys can "get stats" if they are force fed passes like the Giants did Randle. That doesn't mean they are good nor does it mean they contribute at all in a positive way to a good offense or football team.

The Eagles seem to want to collect them though, spending a first rounder on Agholor (name the last USC WR who didn't bust?), signing Randle and then trading for DGB. It will amount to a whole lot of nothing. Their slow, plodding offense might mean a decent year for Cincy native Zach Ertz, but no WR there has any value and it will be one of the most pathetic passing games in the NFL.

...and we want to sign a guy that couldn't even cut it THERE? The Bengals? A team who is in Super Bowl or bust mode? It's that desperate?

..and all I'm saying is given the Bengals history of being able to evaluate talent (which is superior to almost every other organization in the NFL), I'm completely fine with a combo of any of the guys we have in camp.

If we wanted true stability of a veteran, we would've gone after Anquan Boldin or tried to acquire someone like Pierre Garcon. Boldin was a FA and Garcon probably could be had for a 7th rounder.

Think there's zero chance the Bengals would pay the $8m owed to Garcon this year.

Also think that not signing Boldin will haunt the Bengals and probably make me angry when some crappy WR depth shows up big one game when AJ gets a tweaked shoulder or something, comes out, and Dalton has nobody getting open despite having like 6 seconds to throw.

From what I've read coming out of Washington, there's still a chance that Garcon doesn't make the final cutdown. What happens with that $8M fee if he is in fact waived? (would he have to pass thru waivers in order to negotiate a new more "team friendly" contract?
