49ers defense has 8 in the box in this photo and the 6 who are engaged with offensive players are keeping their lanes. The other two are there to tackle Hill if he gets past the line, which he didn't. 'Dre Smith appears to have completely whiffed. The only way to make significant yards on this play would be to break a tackle or two. And for whatever reason, Hill isn't much of a tackle breaker this year.
