Like The Bengals not selling out their stadium for years until the team won a few games?

That kind of bandwagon?

That's not bandwagon because people still supported the team, but people were just smart with their money when Mike Brown wasn't putting a quality team on the field that was worth spending money to go see.

Plus, cheering for the hometown team and going to games isn't bandwagon.

Yes, they just refused to pay to see them...until they started winning.

Certainly not bandwagon at all.

Because who's going to show-up to see something that the owner's not putting any effort into improving?

Never would have brought about any change if people just kept showing up and didn't demand change.

Not people who don't like the owner not putting any effort into making the team a winner and wanting to see change.

If Mike's pockets were never damaged, would any change have ever come?

Someone seems confused on what a bandwagon fan really is.  They are also called fair weathered fans.  More of them show up when you win.  Hell, look at the Seahawks.

The Steelers suck and all. Their fans love Luke Bryan a bit too much... They are also frontrunners, but we can't act like every game wasn't blacked out in 2011. In fairness, the Steelers game sold out. I guess the finale sold out as well... When they offered BOGO to season ticket holders. I for one was ashamed of us as a fan base. Just because Palmer and Chad were gone, and the TO thing didn't work, fans wouldn't give this new team a chance. If anybody's memory is fuzzy, they made the playoffs that year.... and had 6 games blacked out.

The Steelers still blow nutz though... And they love some Kenny Cheney.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Definitions only apply to Brad if they help his case.

You're the one that's confused, as always.

A fair weather fan is only a fan when they are winning.

A bandwagon fan is a fan only because everyone else is and it's easy to be a fan.

People not showing up for games when they're losing doesn't make them fair weather fans because people could be cheering from home or anywhere else when they're not at the game. And it's also not exactly "fair weather" when the entire area of Greater Cincinnati was shit-on by Mike Brown for the entire 90s.

Most of us have been fans are entire lives and, even though there was no excitement in showing up for games, we were still fans.

Except I have the correct definition here.

Exactly.  And you refuse to use it when it applies to your own fanbase.

Yet you only hopped back on the bandwagon when the winning began.

That's being fair weather. Which to be honest was the only thing Bengals fans could do to show they wanted a better product.

It's not that they're wrong in doing it (no fan base is), but it does leave the whole of the fan base open for criticism.

Fair weather fans come and go as the tide rises and falls.

Bandwagon jump on when the jumping is good. You can only be bandwagon once. If you leave and come back when it gets good again, you become fair weather after you leave again.

It's funny up here in Iowa, the number of people who had Packers stickers on their cars a few years ago, only to see it replaced with a Seahawks sticker the next year for a couple of years (which is weird because of how completely irrelevant they were around here before).  Then, this year, it was a nice new Broncos sticker after the Super Bowl.
