The chronic misuse of Joe Mixon
#1
Joe Mixon has 38 receptions for 283 yards and 1 TD

C McCaffrey 86 - 701 - 6
S Barkley 78 - 629 - 4
J White 76 - 674 - 6
A Kamara 70 - 591 - 4
E. Elliott 65 - 502 - 3

There are 17 RB's with more receptions than Mixon, several with 20+ more.

Over the last 8 games starting with the Steelers his touches are 15,16,24,13,15,21,14,31 (they finally figured out they should use Joe against chargers)

Throw out the 3 twenty plus touch games and he averaged 14.5 touches in the remaining 5 !!!

Fourteen touches for one of the better weapons in the NFL, it's pathetic. Mixon is a game changing type player when given the opportunity but they continue to be unable to find ways to use him.

We're 1-7 in those games

I lost my mind practically when they pulled him after that 1st drive against NO.

Absolutely inexcusable. Lazor needs to be on the unemployment line.

Right on

At least a couple of those 14.5 touch games we had no AJ and 1 of our 3 best weapons is riding the pine. It's absurd !!!

Someone said when the Cleveland game ended, and players typically go out on the field and shake hands, that Mixon instead sprinted full speed off the field by himself. It was almost bizarre looking. The guy is giving it his all and he is frustrated I would guess.

He's one of the few still playing with total heart and desire. When he's not sitting on the bench

He is a baller and a very versatile RB. I agree that he needs to be seeing more touches overall, but get the man involved more as a pass catcher. This is especially true right now with AJ out.

Yes, he's very unhappy with the lack of the way he's being used. Guys like him when they lose they need to feel that they gave it their all.
I don't get it either, he starts of doing well then for the rest of the game he's not even out there. Baffling.

I can fix this problem very easily.

Just throw out the three lowest instead of the three highest and he is averaging over 21 touches a game.

Touches per game

Barkley.........22.1
McCafferty....20.4
Mixon...........19.8
Kamara........18.7

The overreaction and drama is getting out of hand around here.

Probably just didn't wanna talk to Baker Mayfield's punk ass...
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

And he’s had less than 15 in 6 of our 8 losses. Your excuse making and spinning has been out of hand.

Mixon is our 2nd best football player on offense. With Green out, he's the best.

But unfortunately we have Merv in the mix who f's it all up.

Not a lot of runs and screens when you’re down 35 points

We’ve abandoned the run several times way before it got that out of hand. Supposedly Lazor had this issue in Miami as well.

Marvin does not call the offensive plays.

YUP

I don't care how much anybody tap dances around the facts one of our best play makers only got 14.5 touches combined in 6 losses. Yeah I get it we can't run the ball against anybody with a decent D.

But really ? 2,3,4 catches in some of those games and no AJ and one of our best play makers has a handful of targets ?

Horribly bad game planning/play calling and misuse of a weapon.

Exactly !

He should have way more targets in the passing game than he's getting.
