Many do not realize that O Brother Where Art Thou is a translation of Homer's Odyssey.

Just another aspect that makes it great. There is also a concert called "Down From The Mountain" in which the soundtrack is performed live by the original artists.

Yeah, a severe lack of comedies on these lists. Also, no Friday so far.

Yeah Friday is the sh*t.

Office Space is another fav comedy of mine.  Just like Spinal Tap.  A lot of quotes come from that.

Also Better Off Dead as someone had mentioned before.

Damn I almost forgot one of my favorite of all time.  Raising Arizona.

Come to think of it that movie would probably be in the actual top 5 of all movies.  Smart, goofy, and classic shot scenes all in one.

Every time I start thinking of a top 5 I end up with at least a dozen, and I know there are some I am still forgetting. But here is a start. In no order

Hannah and Her Sisters
True Grit
Raising Arizona
Full Metal Jacket
Rocky
The Big Lebowski
This is Spinal Tap
National Lampoon Vacation
The Blues Brothers
Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Rear Window
Annie Hall
Taxi Driver

Cool Hand Luke

Wow, that's tough to narrow down to five. So many good flicks deserve mentining, but I'll stick to the OP's parameters. In no particular order:

M*A*S*H
2001: A Space Odyssey
Jaws
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
Dr. Strangelove

I'll start by saying that some of you have total shit taste in movies. Sick

Blade Runner
Apocalypse Now
The Shawshank Redemption
A Clockwork Orange (one of the, if not the most, visually stunning movies of all time)
Goodfellas

Just missing out would be;

Aliens (I love it but the military mistakes made in it bother the hell out of me)
Snatch (I can literally watch this at any time)
L.A. Confidential
Taxi Driver
Excalibur
Pulp Fiction

All good mentions SSF

When I mentioned Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,  I meant to list the one in bold and for the life of me could not remember the name.  Thought I'd come back to it later, then I forgot about it. Great movie though.

Another I just happened to think of is The Usual Suspects.

Also I know it's not a movie, but one of the better stand up routines was an HBO special years ago by Eddy Izzard called Dressed to Kill.
