Trump attacks protections for immigrants from ‘s***hole’ countries

Exactly. Yes, many of these countries are in poor shape right now and none of us would have an issue with saying that. Granted it's a lot different than saying "shit hole". The issue is saying "why do we want people from there" as if they aren't worthy. There are a lot of great people in those places who want to come somewhere that will allow them to succeed.

Yeah my grandmother was German, and came here when she was about 2yo.  Though she was born in Germany, you never would've been able to tell, she had no accent.  I didn't even know she could speak German until I was about 12yo or so, when distant relatives came to visit.

I can trace my oldest Irish immigrants to the Carrolls of Maryland Daniel who signed the Constitution is my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great grandfather and his brother John founded Georgetown. Charles was their cousin's son. They faced religious discrimination, but I have some that originated in the late 1800's and my Grandfather's grandparents came to the US from Naples in the late 1800's. His other grandfather was Irish and was marked as "ruddy" not "white" on his WWI draft card.  On my mom's side, that grandfather's grandparents came from Germany in the 1890's. His Italian great-grandmother on his mom's side wasn't considered "white" during the 1860 census when she was only a few years old. They called her mulatto because of her Italian olive skin.

They can have impacts in their small communities however, they still have very little impact on the country as a whole. Now you could make a play that if everyone did it would make the country better, but that wasn't your original statement. Originally you created a conenction between every individual of a country and there ability apparently to make it good or bad through their OWN actions. We aren't calling communities "shitholes" we are calling whole countries "shitholes", so your friend above, what was his role in making Haiti a terrible place?

Their overall values. They elect corrupt people and allow themselves to be taken advantage. They get taken advantage of because they are stupid. They come here and they still do stupid things.

If they were remotely serious about making their lives better and haita’s they either go home or truly cut them off. Never send back anything. Force them to change their lives.

My friend sends back a garage full of stuff every couple of months. He admits he is not helping them but he feels guilty because he left. He isn’t going back because he knows it’s a s-hole country full of low life’s and scammers.

Ah, whatever.

Wasn’t it said in private meeting? We all say things in meetings that don’t have the normal filter we would use in public.

Dear lord the comment was crude but let’s be serious. There is Merit there and really we should be careful who we do bring to this country. Which is why Trump is right that we need a point system.

FWIW, Nigerian born immigrants in this country hold college degrees at a higher rate than native born people.

Would be a great boost to the Nigerian economy if they took that education back built something.

Maybe then The country would be less of a s-hole.

Willow said it best tonight.

How fitting that every shithole trailer I drive past has a TRUMP PENCE sign in front of it.

Anyways, Trump's big campaign message was that America has become a giant shithole and people cheered him and elected him, so forgive me if I'm not parituclarly surprised at this. Hell, the right-wing spin machine spent the entire Obama administration telling us how shitty things had become here.

Oh crap, I'm the guy who just exonerated Trump of racism.  Ouch. On a related note, I have to wonder why Trump would want more people from socialist shitholes like Norway, though.

On another side note:

Reporters yelling "Are you racist?!?!" at the POTUS aren't helping.

You ask him if he used the word he is accused of using.

If he says yes there is verification.

If he says no you follow up by asking what he said...if he remembers.

Then watch him dance.

He's not going to say he's a racist, even if he is.

Where I live all the trailer parks are full of either white trash or illegals, so both voter bases are represented.

Reporters yelling “are you racist” is exactly why most think it’s all fake news out there.... dear lord he called awful countries s-holes. It was crude and unnecessary even if we already know they are s-holes.

The more they overreach and overreact the closer we get to a 2020 win for Trump.
