I doubt it matters with Trump, but wouldn't he be risking waiving possible attorney client privileges with this?

Yes, but it doesn't really matter. The crime fraud exception would waive such a privilege, anyway.

Pally:

Trump is going to have a very hard time convincing anyone that he barely knew Sydney Powell and she wasn't his counsel when he had drafted an order naming her special counsel, under his seal, to seize Dominion voting machines and investigate the possibility of votes being changed by Italian and Venezuelan satellites. The order to seize the Dominion voting machines was drafted but never signed by Trump, b/c WH attorney Pat Cipiloni put a stop to all this in a very heated Oval office discussion; however, the executive order still exists with Trump's signature naming Powell as his personal special counsel.

This is good for right-wing media talk, but Trump will never take the stand and say any of this b/c Jack Smith will shred him to pieces and slap him with a perjury charge so fast his head will spin.

And they say Biden is losing it?

Reporter: You said Sidney Powell wasn’t your attorney. Are you concerned that won’t be covered by attorney-client privilege?

Trump: No. We did nothing wrong. This is all Biden… I was never indicted. I'm pretty sure Trump's strategy at this point is to look so guilty and get indicted so many times and spout so much easily refuted nonsense that people look at it and say "This has to be fake, there is no way anyone is this guilty and in this much trouble."

There's an old saying in legal strategy.

If the law isn't on your side, argue the facts; if the facts are not on your side, argue the law; if neither are on your side, then you pound the table.

Trump is trying to save his neck in the court of public opinion by pounding the table b/c neither the law nor the facts are on his side.
