***Week 8 GameDay Thread - Bengals @ Jets***
Big stop.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

Need a TD for some breathing room. Defense did not show up today.

We need a score. Now. Put the game on ice.

Burrow does what he did the last drive and were up 10 and its essentially game over. Because at that point the gameplan of not guarding the flat helps us because well be able to run clock

Offense better put up some TDs here in the 4th quarter because Jets are marching down the field every time.

Someone dig up one of those Fire Lou! threads.

Had some family stuff come up so just now tuning in.

What is going on gents? Have we played that bad to be battling with the Jets?

Good hold, at least we held them to 3. The offense needs to keep pushing it and scoring because our D is not themselves today.

I would like to see the defense play tighter and make the rookie QB go over the top. He has killed us underneath. Could just be his day but make him adjust. Jmo

Again, that isn't how it works. The secondary and LBers have responsibilities in the run game. These need to be filled. There is no DC that is going to just 'let the line' take care of it. This has already been studied. From an overall picture, run game success has no relationship with play-action passing. During the course of a game, run game effectiveness has no relationship with play-action success. The reason PA works is because the mere threat of a run exists if the RB is on the field.

We had that bates return to the 1 that we went for on 4th down, sacked on 20 lol instead of FG. I guess we didn't fix our short yardage situations this year. To think 1 yard gain is not something we focused on, knowing how bad we are in those situations.

From surprise start to stardom.

And Jets fans stay pissed because they took a QB at #2...

All about the Oline play.  If they protect and run block, they will be fine.

For the most part, yes. Especially the defense. Has not been a good showing by our defense AT ALL. Honestly, the fact that we're even winning is kinda surprising because of how well the Jets have played.

Yes. This is the worst episode of playing down to the competition I’ve seen since Marvin Lewis left town.
