Geez, try to pay the bills, and the masses start throwing shade.....  Mellow

At least you had to scroll all the way to the bottom to find it  Ninja

That's how it always begins.  Next thing you know, we'll all have the annoying sidebar ads, then the popups.  It'll soon be like watching livestream games on pirate channels.. Ninja

Ads...what ads?

Seriously though, the ads were purposely placed at the very bottom so that they wouldn't be intrusive or interfere with content.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I don't see any ads anywhere on any of my pages. Why am I being excluded? I have some money, I want ads too.

I always wondered how ads work, does the website get money just for having them there?
Is it per click on the ad?
Or a combination of both?

I'm not saying not to have them either. For a fan to create the site with their own money for a team that won't, that fan needs to get back that money plus a little more for keeping the site up and running.

Revenue is generated from the ads based on clicks and impressions (how many times the ad was viewable for a full second on any page).

I resisted using ads for the 1st year because, to be honest, I'm not a fan of them myself...so I didn't want you guys to have to look at them either. However, the reality is that as the site continues to grow and use/need more resources, the ads will help cover the cost.

I understand those who don't like looking at ads, which is why I placed them on the very bottom of pages, so that it doesn't interfere with the actual content.

My goal/focus is to guarantee that we have a home for years to come, and while ads can be annoying, the revenue they generate will help to make sure that happens.

So, we as fans that use this site can actually benefit the site monetarily, by clicking on any of the ads, even if we have no desire to purchase a product?

If this is true, I'm willing to look at a few ads for the benefit of the site and it's creator. Cool

They're easy enough to ignore after a while. Plus, every time i scroll to the bottom of the page, to click "return to the top", that's an impression. So if others do that, it should add up pretty good.

I'm almost never on the front page, and didn't even know there were ads until this thread.  So they don't bother me at all.  Do what you need to do to keep the site up.

I have no problems with ads on here, as we can't expect 'Zona to pay for it all.

He's done enough to save our community.

If you need to increase the click rate, make sure to put up a notification so we know we're slacking.

If you REALLY need ads clicked, get ads for porn!
