rep help
#1
Could someone please explain to me the rep system and how it works?

This is the first message board that I've posted on that had such a feature. I've seen it referenced to a lot on this and the old board, but I'm not sure of the details that go into it.

I posted this here because this is where I do most of my posting.

Thanks in advance!

Click on the "rate" icon at the bottom of the message box. You can adjust the amount of rep you can give to a post.

That's it?

I heard stuff on the old board about "negative rep", is that not an option?

Does it really mean anything?  If you get a gazillion rep points do you win a trip to the Bahamas or anything?

There is not negative rep on this board.

And the amount of rep you have determines if you are a failure in life or not.

I thought it was the ratio of your rep to post count.
