It's almost like people can be asymptomatic and spread the disease without even knowing and we should be careful about large gatherings and proper mitigation. Nah...suns out! RE: Coronavirus - GMDino - 05-30-2020 RE: Coronavirus - treee - 06-02-2020 So it looks like covid-19 may be the result of the coronaviruses in pangolins and bats sharing bits of RNA https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/06/sars-cov-2-looks-like-a-hybrid-of-viruses-from-two-different-species/?amp=1 RE: Coronavirus - GMDino - 06-04-2020 Yesterday the POTUS's doctor released a two page summary of how incredibly healthy the 75 year old who exists on diet coke, fast food and adderall is. Also in there was a sentence about Trump's two week regimin of hydroxychloroquine...turns out he might as well have drank bathwater. https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2020-06-03/chloroquine-antimalarials-worthless-against-coronavirus Quote:Column: Study concludes chloroquine drugs promoted by Trump are worthless against coronavirus RE: Coronavirus - Arturo Bandini - 06-04-2020 The pandemic has almost disappear here in France. We stayed home without protesting much ( which is a french achievment ) and the end is near. Good luck to you. Southern states have seen a steady rise. Might be more testing, might be more spreading. Locally we have been much better. Unfortunately the short attention span President is bored with it so we have no leadership from Washington. RE: Coronavirus - Arturo Bandini - 06-04-2020 We are definitely good at marching and protesting. That's our thing. RE: Coronavirus - GMDino - 06-05-2020 One more strike against the "theory" that this drug was useful for Covid.
RE: Coronavirus - Goalpost - 06-05-2020 Jobs number was a huge surprise. Unemployment was expected to reach near 20 percent. Instead it dropped from over 14 percent last month to 13 percent this month. 2.5 million jobs were added. I'm reading that there are more permanent layoffs so far too. And the original unemployment rate was "miscalculated". https://www.stamfordadvocate.com/business/article/The-May-jobs-report-had-misclassification-error-15320999.php Quote:The May jobs report had 'misclassification error' that made the unemployment rate look lower than it is. Here's what happened RE: Coronavirus - GMDino - 06-06-2020 But at least he didn't "look bad".

According to the article, the plant was only open for the time that Trump was there and the plan was to toss the swabs, likely because they expected the conditions with the tour to not be the necessary sanitary standards. The guy seems to be applying his own narrative that isn't supported by the article. RE: Coronavirus - samhain - 06-07-2020 (06-06-2020, 04:44 PM)GMDino Wrote: But at least he didn't "look bad". That picture literally looks more like Alec Baldwin in costume playing Trump than actual Trump. RE: Coronavirus - oncemoreuntothejimbreech - 06-07-2020 Finally got the Covid-19 PCR nasal swabs this week. Management was basically forced into getting them to us through their own incompetence. Didn’t even have the test in the computer system the first day for us to order the tests. First three patients I tested were positive. All three are nurses. I hope they were listening to the CDC and wearing a face covering in public when not at work to help reduce the chance of spreading it to others. Instead of listening to our president tell people he won’t wear one or listening to the BS about wearing a mask if you’re scared. Also, patient visits have increased by a conservative estimate of at least 300% now that we have the test. Although that is a mere drop in the bucket of the $25M/week they claim they are losing, it more than covers the 10% they cut from my salary. Hope the ‘interns’ from the local HS vocational school can fix that outdated autoclave as advertised. God knows that recycled PPE isn’t going to sterilize itself at the gross margins projected by a pre-2020 amortization schedule. Get bent you public servant. If you don’t like it maybe you should have been born whiter to a richer family. Bootstraps ************. Pull ‘em up. I got a new face shield made by GM. Pretty nice. Still waiting on my MAGA PPE, but I won’t hold my breath because Trump ain’t using the Defense Production Act to cut into his profits. That’s just for losers like GM. But the narrative is exactly right. The plant knew Trump would ignore safety and sanitary standards so they produced for him and his dog and pony show and then tossed everything. I supposed I should blame the factory for not "standing up" to the POTUS. They must not have had someone there to tell him that people "always" listen to. But the simple fact that they KNEW one person, Trump, would ignore the rules and so pre-planned to destroy everything he was around says a lot about him. But the simple fact that they KNEW one person, Trump, would ignore the rules and so pre-planned to destroy everything he was around says a lot about him. Well no, the narrative is incorrect then. The narrative of the tweet was that Trump caused them to throw out a day's worth of product by not wearing a mask. The reality is that they chose to waste a day of production by allowing him to tour the facility, planning for the factory to only operate for the time he was there. No private business has to let the president into it. The business is who I am more upset with. The swabs are scarce and they opted to waste a day of production. Obviously we can be upset with Trump for wanting the photo op over the value of a day's worth of production, but these are two very different narratives than what the original tweet offered, and that's disappointing given that the author of the tweet is an editor. |
