Awesome

I'm already wondering which of Trump's kids the right-wing is going to decide fit to run the country after Donald's 8 years.

They want Ivanka, she's polished, but they'll get Junior.

Awesome

His relatives cannot serve in a capacity that includes policy making.

No big news here. It was "speculated" a good while back, that Haley was going to step down as UN Ambassador. I'm pleased that it has transpired diplomatically, and the POTUS has already had ample time to consider a next up.

Quote:President Trump has offered State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert the role of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a senior administration official told Fox News.

It is not clear yet is whether she has accepted the offer to replace the outgoing Nikki Haley as ambassador.

The White House would only say Thursday that Nauert “is under strong consideration."

Nauert met with Trump in the Oval Office on Monday. Several other officials have been named as potential candidates, including U.S. Ambassador to France Jamie McCourt.

Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, announced earlier this month she would leave the post by the end of this year.

Nauert, a former Fox News journalist, was named State Department spokesperson in April 2017, working under both Secretaries of State Rex Tillerson and Mike Pompeo.

Earlier this year, she also was named acting undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs after the dismissal of Steve Goldstein from that post.

She has the one thing Trump looks for most in any candidate:  Loyalty to Trump.

Who needs experience or a background in the job when you read the news on Fox And Friends for five years or so?   Smirk

I did not even know we had an "undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs"

But it looks like she will fit right in with the Trump administration....

Nauert has made a few errors at the podium for which she's been skewered by critics. Last month, she was widely ridiculed for citing the 1944 D-Day invasion of Nazi-occupied France as evidence of the US's "strong relationship" with the government of Germany.

They helped us invade France.  I have seen the pictures.
