Correct me if I'm wrong, but "for generations" social security funds were not allowed to be touched except for social security purposes.

Did your parents or grandparents collect SS benefits?

My parents just retired like 2 years ago. But, i do think they get something from SS.

As for my grandparents, I have no idea.

My parents and grandparents got something from SS.

Best way to play it safe is to not rely on SS being there when retirement comes.

Instead put all of your savings into buying lottery tickets for the $970 million Mega Lottery!
