It's not actually true. It was said by PFF, but they were wrong. Hakeem Butler just in 2019 apparently had a bigger wingspan at 83 7/8". (Not to say that Pitts doesn't have an enormous wingspan and isn't a physical freak at that size/speed.)

Hakeem Butler was labeled as a WR, was he not? If so, the statement would still be true.

Dunno, just know his wiki page calls him a "wide receiver and tight end". You might be right though, in which case your statement is true. Just knew the PFF thing that was floating around had mentioned WRs and TEs.

Either way, dude has silly wide wingspan.   Joe

I know if Atlanta takes Pitts at 4 and the Bengals take Chase at 5, Miami is going to be pissed because they didn't trade back up to 6 to take Sewell. The Dolphins are counting on us to take Penei at 5. The 'Phins would probably have to settle for Waddle at 6 if they are wanting a WR.( If you consider that settling. )

Dunno about that.
They traded for then released Isaiah Wilson, so clearly they wanted another OT in house.
They drafted Austin Jackson and Robert Hunt last year, but Jackson was (very) underwhelming and Hunt was just ok.
They could decide to take Sewell and have him battle it out with Jackson and Hunt for the OT spots and possibly shift the loser inside to OG, as Kindley wasn't very good last year either.

The tackle, please.

Oh I'm not saying Miami wouldn't take Penei "if" he fell into their lap at 6, but I think they are counting on us taking him at 5, I think they have their hearts set on Chase or possibly Pitts at 6, that's why I believe they moved back up to 6. They think we have Penei penciled in at 5 because of our line and he is a position of need. If we take Sewell at 5( He's my choice BTW) and either Pitts or Chase is available to Miami at 6, they will Warp 9 their card to Goodell with a big smile on their faces.

Just for fun I looked at 4 mock draft sites to see what our second round would look like, taking either Sewell/WR or Chase/OL.

Taking Sewell in the first, second round receiver was Marshall (Fanspeak), Marshall (PFN), Rondale or Elijah Moore (PFF). I also tried TDN but Sewell was gone.

With Chase in the first, second round OL was Davis (Fanspeak), Mayfield (PFN), Eichenberg (TDN), Little/Radunz/Leatherwood (PFF).

I will stick with Penei.

Chase/Eichenberg sounds fantastic to me.

I doubt Marshall is even there at 38.

Sounds like we need Pitts to go run somewhere else. Maybe go run at Ohio St, where they had all their guys run faster than expected times.

All Liam Eichenberg has done is shut down every edge defender he has played against for 3 years and was an excellent run blocker.

Alot of these Tackles that are ranked above him all have that "ultra athletic" label but Eichenberg screams the guy that is drafted and is a wall at tackle for 15 years.

Good parenting point here, it's almost always better to give the kid what he needs and not what he wants.

Agreed. I’d be very happy with Sewell/Marshall combo if you could guarantee Marshall would be there in round two, but I generally like the OT/G’s in round 2 better than the WR’s I think will still be there so picking a receiver in one is making more and more sense to me.

Chase/Eichenberg would be great

If the Bengals go WR or Pitts in the first this year I would anticipate 1, if not more, Tackle needy teams jumping them in the 2nd to get whom ever falls.  Of the 10 teams picking after the Bengals in the 2nd round 5 have Tackle as a primary need. Jumping 10 or 12 spots in the 2nd is only going to cost slightly more than a 4th round pick to do it.  Chump change for a team trying to get a starting Tackle.

RE: Updated Poll: Who At #5 Overall? - Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 - 03-31-2021

I went Sewell.

Yes, there are decent OL prospects that could be available round 2, but they are not in his league.

Speaking of not in his league, no one is in Pitts' league. He's a unicorn. I'd take Pitts if Sewell is gone.

Chase would #3 for me. Bateman, Moore, Moore and others (Waddle, Smith) are all close enough to him athletically (or better in some areas).

RE: Updated Poll: Who At #5 Overall? - Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 - 03-31-2021

For example:

Marshall ran 4.38.

Elijah Moore ran 4.35 and went 6.66 in 3 cone (Chase 7.00).

Toney ran 4.39 and 11'4" broad jump.

Bateman reportedly ran 4.39 and is bigger.

Dynami Brown had a good showing at his pro day.

Dyami Brown
Height: 6-0 5/8
Weight: 189
Hand: 9 5/8"
Arm: 32 6/8"
Wingspan: 77 2/8"
40-yard: 4.44
Vertical: 35.5"
Broad: 10'8
Short Shuttle: 4.35
3-Cone: 6.90
Bench Press: 18

Quote:NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks explained on Monday’s “Path to the Draft” show why Brown boosted his stock a good deal on Monday.

Dyami Brown made money, and he made money because when you watch the tape you knew he was one of the top deep threats in football, but then he works out and he runs a low 4.4-forty, you saw a 35 1/2 inch vertical, and then you see him catching balls,” Brooks said. “When looking at this wide receiver class you can put him in different categories — your true No. 1’s, and then your deep threats that are No. 2’s — I think he has to be at the top of the list of the No. 2’s in terms of a deep-ball specialist, a big-play weapon opposite an established No. 1. I think Dyami Brown is going to have a fantastic NFL career and I expect to hear his name called on Day Two, hopefully early on Day Two in the second round.”

I'd be so pissed if they reached for Eichenberg. Taking a guy that isn't a top 50 prospect at 38 is not the right move.
