Hmmmm. White congressmen speaking of impeaching Obama has no clear relevance to a point about what would happen if white congressmen called for impeachment?

I think JJ was pointing more toward the profanity.

But as to your links I do appreciate you supporting my stance that it would have made news if a white man did it. So once again Thanks. JJ most likely is unhappy with your post.

I do see my post as supporting your stance.  Though I would add that people seem to readily forget how often the I-word was used with respect to Obama.

A list of Trumpisms would be needed to counter the profanity.

Quote:Rep. Rashida Tlaib learned that before lunch Friday, when her profane remarks the night before vowing to impeach President Donald Trump drew almost no support, and plenty of pushback, from members of her party.

Kudos to the Dems for showing there's still some grown ups in the building. Hopefully they didn't do it just because she's a Muslim woman.

I don't think Bfine understands the concept. It knows no politics. So of course everyone is attacking her far worse then they ever did Trump for cussing. They are trying to force her out while Trump remains POTUS after all his cursing (but American voters think it's cool when he does it). How do you think she'll explain that to her kids? Exactly. Some people just get away with what we can't. That's what minority kids have been told for decades and how we've got to this notion of "white privilege".

But carry on attacking the lady and demanding she step down (both parties) for her "coarse" language.

It wasn't about the impeachment part as many Dems and their voters have been screaming that. And you don't see this type of backlash from society.

No doubt. No one has ever recommended Trump step down.

I do believe the GOP must have the vapors over such language!  And in such a partisan way!

Not just because he said a curse word. In the mean time she is being forced out for it.

So she's pretty much done. In the mean time "other" people in power are cussing left and right even as she gets attacked for it and yet they are being applauded for it.

I must be missing it.  Where is she "being forced out"?

Thought I would but this here instead of starting a shiny new thread:
https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/meteorologist-fired-viewers-claim-uttered-racial-slur-air-174828228.html

Quote:A meteorologist at a Rochester, N.Y., news station was fired Monday after the city’s mayor and other viewers called for his dismissal for using what sounded like a racial slur during the broadcast.

While talking Friday about an ice rink at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, WHEC meteorologist Jeremy Kappell appeared to use a slur in the middle of King’s name. While the mayor wanted Kappell off the job, others argued that he had simply fumbled his words.

Does anyone actually think this guy's intention was to say Coon instead of King on the air?

But in this case his white privilege got him fired.

How did "white privilege" get him fired?

He got fired for making an awful mistake. I don't think he should have been, but it happens.

He'll find work elsewhere, and probably sue.

Because if he were black I do not believe the Mayor would have been outraged and called for his firing. Of course that's just my opinion. Do you think it would have gone down differently if he were black?

At best his white privilege didn't protect him.

A black guy would not have said "coon" instead of "king".

And the fact that you think this has anything to do with "white privilege" proves you have no clue what it even means.

"White guy just got hit bya car.  Wonder why his "white privilege" did not protect him? Derp."

1. You can only make that assertion if you believe the word was uttered intentionally or black guys never get tongue tied. Which is it?

2. Of course it has nothing to do with White Privilege. It just point to the absurdity of those that constantly squeal about it.

3. Not sure of the relevance here; however, I assume it made sense when you said it in the mirror.

Freudian slip.

How could it point out the absurdity of "white privilege" if it has nothing to do with "white privilege".

So in Fred logic he was thinking Coon.

It is my hope that others are more open-minded than you; however, the firing shows many are not

Fred Logic:

Pointing to the absence of White Privilege, makes it a point about white privilege.
