Top 10% athletically of all safeties since 1987. That’s a great head start. But no like I said don’t know at what point he gets there.

What I think some people might have forgotten or not known is that Hill had played multiple positions at Michigan, so he's less experienced at safety compared to someone who had been playing safety for years.

If he focuses on one position, I think he can ascend.
He was one of my favorite 1st round prospects.
Although me really liking a prospect might result in the KOD lol.

Yeah, as a Michigan fan (please don't kick me off the board) he got moved around a ton, as the Wolverines' defense does that with their dynamic players (like Peppers previously) so they sometimes play safety and sometimes more of a linebacker. So I do think that the physical talent is there, for sure, and having a year to learn at the NFL level probably helped a ton.

Yeah I am a little concerned about safety not being his sole position at Michigan. Hopefully he really excels given the chance. I still expect the defense to struggle this year compared to the last couple.

I think it was appropriate for Hill to sit a year, as he might not have been fully ready coming out of college given he hadn't been playing safety exclusively.
But man, he had some fantastic plays at Michigan. I loved how fast he was attacking the ball carrier. Dude flat out flies and tries to make plays.

Dax sure has played all over the place. Like you say, he can now concentrate on one position. Should simplify things for him once he
gets said one position down. To play multiple positions and still be a top prospect in your draft really says a lot in a good way, you have
to be smart to do this and I think that is the biggest thing we lost with Bates and Bell leaving. They were very smart.

Eh, there are lots of Wolverine fans on this board. I actually like them better than OSU, I am a Bearcat fan, not an OSU fan.

I am a big fan of Sam Hubbard though. Always have been.

We struggled last year at times on Defense. We should be a better pass rushing team with the players added and certain players
growing and our Secondary is way faster with all the additions and Lou is back for another year. I expect us to be better this year
in almost all aspects. If we aren't, it has to be injuries or lack of growth or poor coaching. The 2 latter I doubt will be the cause.

Dax still needs the NFL game to slow down for him as most young, talented players need. Once it does, I expect to see those plays
you speak of where he diagnoses the play quickly and lights RB's or Receivers up. His tackling was crazy impressive with Michigan
and as you say, he flat out flies.

He spent most of last season learning both the safety and corner positions in this defense. That gave him an overall understanding of the scheme that should really pay off now that he's strictly a free safety.

Trayveon Williams is week to week with an ankle sprain

Charlie Jones is day to day with a shoulder injury...will not practice today

Jordan Battle is fighting some "tightness"-no overall status but may be limited today

RE: Training Camp Chat/News/Updates - pally - 08-04-2023

might be some hyperbole here

Hey, if Pollack is looking for another "glasseater":

Quote:In an announcement shared by the team, they cut offensive lineman Jamarco Jones. According to the team, he caused several "practice field incidents" and was involved in a skirmish with star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.
Seems he wanted to fight the entire D.

Hell yeah, sign him up.  They can keep him in a box on the sidelines, and then bring him in for situational use when necessary in divisional and playoff games.

He's so discilpined the Titans cut him. Yeah, he'll fit right in in Cincinnati.... not.

You don't play him in a starting role.  You bring him in when needed, like a goon in Hockey..

Why don't Zues Jr get to be a Glasseater?

He's so big that he'll get a picture of his own, later.  On another note, Glasseaters smile??

Never know, he might be ready for the job quicker than some of us think.

Really sucks to hear about Charlie Jones but hopefully this above tweet means its minor. I have high hopes for how he can fit into our offense. He could be a killer on long drives vs a tired defense.

He’s officially good

Think James Rapien or Locked on Bengals reported he was just day to day. Aka if there was a game tomorrow he’d play.
