Just look at Cleveland, their river hasn't caught on fire in over 40 years. But just like every other government agency it has been corrupted from it's original purpose of striking a balance between protecting the environment and maintaining a good economy.
The EPA has always been about a pure governmental overreach of power and control masquerading as caring about the environment
It has been taken over by power hungry groups and individuals that use it to further their own agendas.

Yep. Water and air are no cleaner and now government owns the land they snatched. For sure.

Nothing is going to happen to the air and water if the EPA went away.
This isn't a dystopian movie where everything will go to shit.
Instead they create new rules that allow them to seize control of land if a prairie dog lives on it. Or stop building of a home if a rare bird took a shit there 5 years ago and is never actually seen there. Or if there is a temporary marsh/wetland on private land....
But yeah. Grade A group man.

RRL, excellent post above. So tired of hearing about how the world will turn into Mad Max without the EPA.
If they were a private company they would be slammed for it, now the government does it then it's 3x worse than they say it is ..... and they just say oops.

No this is America where companies will cut any corner they can to make an extra penny.
And they lie and they pay off inspectors and they pollute and they poison...all in the name of the almighty dollar.
What makes you think that if they weren't forced to not pour chemicals in the water they would not when they are still trying to do it NOW when someone is watching them?

Between labor costs and the EPA regulations in this country, it's surprising we make anything here besides food.

Not saying there isn't a place for Enviornmental protection. But the hysteria over the big bad companies trying to end the world with pollution is my issue.
The EPA needs dialed back to reasonable levels of regulation. Not to mention they are unelected people and do not have to directly answer to the public.
