Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - GMDino - 09-03-2015 http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/02/arby-apologizes-after-officer-is-denied-service-for-being-cop/ Quote:A Florida Police Department had a beef with Arby’s after a cop was denied service Tuesday evening by a worker at the fast food franchise – simply because the customer was a police officer. Some minimum wage guy at an Arby's somewhere who reportedly had a problem taking an order from a customer because the customer was a police officer. Fromthe way I heard it on the local radio this morning the manager told the officer and it went up the chain to the point where some very important person (probably wearing a tie) in some national organization of police is calling for a BAN ON ARBY'S for their lack of respect. And all I can think is: RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - SteelCitySouth - 09-03-2015 That kid is a douche bag. That officer is smart for not accepting the food as well. Why doesn't Arby's do more to stop their employees from not serving the police!?!??!!111!!!!! #allcustomersmatter RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - Donnyho - 09-03-2015 I'm just sitting here waiting for Obama to speak out against Arbys............... (Really, be should. Arbys is gross) RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - fredtoast - 09-03-2015 Most places give free deals to officers in uniform. I worked for a private security service for a while. When I stopped to get coffee on my way to work the guy would give it to me for free. I told him I was not a police officer, but he said he didn't care. He was always glad to see any uniform in the store especially at night. Many years ago when I was a fireman we got 1/2 price at pizza hut and all sorts of other deals when we were in uniform. We had to eat at the station when we were on duty, so I would wear my uniform out some times when I wasn't working just to get the pizza seal. Finally it is ridiculous to punish all Arby's for one stupid employee at some random store. In fact that kid will probably be working for another fast food place and serve people who are boycotting Arby's. RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - jakefromstatefarm - 09-03-2015 I'm sure the idiot that did this is probably one in favor of the $15 minimum wage movement. I'm pretty sure everyone who works at a fast food franchise would be in support of earning $15 an hour. I would say only when they are breaking the law vs not giving one person their order...that they got anyway only a couple minutes later. Just look at SCS's sig. But more importantly, why was Fred trying to get a seal that eats pizza? Lonely? Maybe he wanted to go clubbin? Lonely? Maybe he wanted to go clubbin? It's a long story. I first went to the sea mammal dating site looking to meet some dolphins. I have this thing for blowholes. So I never imagined I'd end up with a cute little seal like Shaggy. We met as part of this three-way hook up with a bottlenose and we just clicked. He would always get "frisky" when I wore my fireman uniform. Then we would chill out and eat pizza. RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - JustWinBaby - 09-03-2015 This burger-flipper-for-life is every bit as ignorant as someone who refuses to serve a black guy. Imagine the uproar if this had been a gay, black cop refused service! RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - Rotobeast - 09-03-2015 If the worker were black and stated they were refusing service to a white cop, do you think this would get treated like the refusal to bake the cake for the SSC ? RE: Arby's apologizes after officer is denied service for being a cop - fredtoast - 09-03-2015 (09-03-2015, 01:57 PM)Rotobeast Wrote: If the worker were black and stated they were refusing service to a white cop, do you think this would get treated like the refusal to bake the cake for the SSC ? The law is even more clear that race is a protected class. So you definitely can not refuse service based on race.
