Tannehill isn’t coming here.

Lol... no

Cleveland hasn't had a non-losing season in 12 years - even the Bengals of the 90s never went on a streak like that - and they beat one good team all of last year. They're improving, but I'm nowhere close to being convinced that they've arrived yet. Baltimore is one dimensional, almost choked the division away last year, and has been pretty up-and-down over the last few years. The Steelers are losing their best player for the 2nd year in a row, and while they may very well bounce back that team has some serious lockerroom issues. As flawed as the Bengals are I'm just not convinced that they are that out of it.

I'd be ticked if they just threw in the towel.

Am I ready for a coaching rebuild here?  Absolutely!

Am I ready for a team blow up?   Hell to the NO!

No sense in being in panic mode just yet.

So the variables would be:

1. Tannehill is released
2. There is a QB they must have
3. They get a solid return for Dalton

For this to work, a lot has to fall into place. They may get a team like the Jags to swap 1sts and throw in a 3rd for Dalton. Then you have the Giants and possibly a trade spot for a QB as threats. I like Haskins, but we would need 2 big upgrades to the line before the draft for the restructure to make sense. For me Dalton is plan A, if things line up after that so be it.

Tannehill for Dalton no way.

Tannehill plus a couple of high draft choices for Dalton yes.

We are heading into a rebuild stage. I do not agree with those who think we have a strong roster and are only a couple of players away. Cleveland and Baltimore are heading up and the Steelers are the Steelers.   Both our o line and linebackers are awful and that cannot be fixed in one year.

The  new coach will want his own QB if they can get that person. Both Dalton and Tannehill are/would be bridges to the new guy.

These can be fixed.

It just takes better minds and moves to do it(add luck as well).

Let's just see if the process and motivation from the Front Office can make it happen.

It can be possible without trading top starting players of the team away.

I don't want Tannehill either, but I'd like to point out that Andy has never had an MVP year and hasn't even received a single MVP vote.

Of course, Brees has never had an MVP year either, which is sad because he's deserved one more than once.

Yea, go ahead and pull out some statistics saying he is top 10 at deeps balls. I'm saying anyone with AJ Green is gonna have a good deep ball percentage. Also explains why we haven't really gotten Ross jump started yet either. He's not a jump ball specialist like AJ, you have to actually be able to hit him in stride, that is how speedsters work.

Which is why I hated the pic then and even more now.

Hitting a WR with a microscopic catch radius in stride ain't that easy to do, especially when said WR's route running isn't very precise. Deep balls are often thrown before the WR makes a break, so it's also about the WR being in the right spot at the right time. And, of course, the WR can't give up and stop either. Cough, cough.

The NFL is not like that the PAC 12 was when Ross was there where zones gave him wide areas to into. In the NFL he's going to have a guy on his hip wherever he goes.

Now please don't take my statements as a defense of Dalton. Take them more along the lines of Ross needs a lot more work than people realize.

He felt like a late 2nd round pick to me for any team.

Why does this guy feel like a project player too after watching him?

I hope to hell that Zac Taylor and company get something more out of him.

I don't think Ross is a bust but still seems too raw for a 1st round WR pick.

Yeah, I was shocked by the pick. His best route is along the back of the endzone where he just has to run fast and follow the back of the endzone line.

I also hope that Taylor can get something out of him, but I won't hold my breath waiting for it either and I'd address the position in the draft as if Ross is a flop so that I'm not left out to dry like this year where he's out there as the #1 and can only bring in 1 ball the entire game.

I don't think he was even aware enough to know that he was the #1 WR our last two games.

It all depends on what you can get back for Dalton. If you can't get a 1st or 2nd round pick then it is pointless. If you can, then you do this in a heartbeat.

ps. andy dalton as a selling point for head coaching candidates to come here is laugh out loud funny. Some of these Dalton lovers are delusional.

Taylor is supposed to be an offensive genius. If he thinks Tim tebow is the the answer, then I'm along for the ride.

I like Dalton. Probably more than most on this board. But if the new coach wants a box of cheezits, then get him a box of cheezits. If he wants tannehill, get him tannehill.

And if it doesn't work in a couple seasons, then scrap it and get a new coach.

You only suggested cheezits because they're orange like Andy's hair.

I would seriously question whether or not they made the right choice at HC.

And then i'd give him the chance to prove me wrong.

I'm pretty sure the whoever they pick will be questioned until the team wins in the playoffs. We could easily continue to loss with Marvin Lewis or Hue at the helm. The guy will have to bring home the bacon and it can't take 16 years to figure out it's not happening.

Tannehill is a little over a year younger than Andy Dalton and much stranger things than a move like this have happened in the NFL.

Should this QB change occur and with the approval of expected New Head Coach Zac Taylor; What would be your opinion of and reaction to this being Zac Taylor's statement making move ?

Possible Pros & Cons to this move (Draft picks for Dalton/Tannehill's injury history etc) ?

I would think it was incredibly stupid.  Dalton is a surgeon when kept remotely clean (and NO, that is not all QBs).  He is one of the better VALUES in the NFL.  The QB isn't our problem.

If they wanted to make a big move and trade a guy like AJ Green for a ton, then I would be intrigued.  The QB position is settled, though, and we shouldn't go making problems where there isn't one to start.

Well hopefully some of the more patient fans realize this may be a pretty big change and stick around a minute to see if it works. But, i read social media too.

Don’t forget that both had Bill Lazor as their OC.
