Lol, Jim Acosta.. - SunsetBengal - 07-01-2019 I don't even need to add any comments on this one. The author does a fine job of illustrating the situation. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/jun/30/jim-acosta-cnn-embarrassment-village-idiots/?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork&fbclid=IwAR0AXdRuzca5dtcY12-OemLl-feq67hrnN8MaeCnqR-bo95goF_Gb9DAoPI Quote:OSAKA, Japan — At a time when the American political press could not possibly do any more to embarrass itself, CNN’s Jim Acosta strikes again. This time overseas after President Trump spent the weekend meeting with the world’s most powerful leaders. I will say this. In the pre-tech days, Charles Hurt likely could have made himself a very wealthy man, by writing action/adventure drama books. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - bfine32 - 07-01-2019 Dude's just trying to get folks to buy his book. A book he wrote about how much danger he faces in "telling the truth". Let the irony of that sink in for a moment. He published a book about how dangerous it is to be a member of the press. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - BmorePat87 - 07-01-2019 In the full exchange, Acosta pressed him on why he refused to comment on the Saudis killing Khashoggi when he was asked in front of the Saudi Prince, referring to the "coziness" Trump seems to have with dictators, who Trump described as being able to get along with more than he can get along with reporters. Trump had ignored multiple questions about the murder while praising bin Salman as a friend and someone who has done a great job. Remember that the CIA has concluded that bin Salman ordered the murder. Quite frankly, if you think it's wrong to call the President out when they praise dictators and refuse to hold them accountable for the murder of a journalist working for an American media outlet, then you may want to reassess if you value what our nation stands for. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - NATI BENGALS - 07-01-2019 I have a few questions. Do you like that our president is kissing ass with dictators? Do you think the President of the United States of America should be on the global stage kissing the ass of the evil dictators of the world? Is this good or bad for America's global standing? RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - CJD - 07-01-2019 Liberal News Media: Hey Donald, can you maybe hold the dictators you rub elbows with accountable for the atrocities they commit? Please? Just this one time? Conservative News Media: LOL, Look at this dumb **** being all SJW over here. What a prick. Looks like Acosta was doing his job. Why is the US press an "embarrassment" when it holds US leaders accountable? I might have phrased Acosta's question differently--should the US hold a world leader accountable for murdering a member of the press (regardless of whether he was full or part time) if it means losing an arms deal? Er, wait. Trump already answered that question. Not all that "horrible," I guess. "Horrible" would be millions of Americans no longer interested Kashoggi's murder. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - Benton - 07-02-2019 Wrong time and place, but someone needs to bring it up. Trump has gone against his own intelligence community, against allied intelligence and against moral responsibility in siding with the alleged murderers, who are religious extremists. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - BakertheBeast - 07-02-2019 Thanks mainly to Jim Acosta there are no more white house press conferences. When you ask questions that the administration won't answer because it makes the President look like the ass. Acosta was one of the few who had the balls to ask the tough questions. Now all you have is Copter talk outside with the news media packed with Trump friendly reporters lobbing him softball questions. I remember when he had balls enough to brush away a female staffer whose job it was to take the mike from him while he was demonstrating him balls by not follow procedure or directives from POTUS in his house. Acosta is a self-serving POS and this is the reason the story in the OP is making news. Acosta had balls enough to ask a question that he hoped would help the sales of his book. Of course none of this excuses Trump's inaction on the matter, but let's not paint Acosta as some 1st Amendment freedom fighter RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - GMDino - 07-02-2019 (07-02-2019, 10:26 AM)bfine32 Wrote: I remember when he had balls enough to brush away a female staffer whose job it was to take the mike from him while he was demonstrating him balls by not follow procedure or directives from POTUS in his house. Of course it does. If we "lol" at the reporter who then we can shift focus from the question. If we accuse a reporter who asked a legitimate question of simply wanting to help his book sales then we can ignore the question. That's what the article in the OP does. If there is a bias that can be proven. A legitimate question is still legitimare no matter the opinion of an article on the internet. By "his" you mean taxpayers like Accosta and the people he represents, right? Correct I mean the White House, the official residence of POTUS. Glad you were able to crack the code. RE: Lol, Jim Acosta.. - Goalpost - 07-02-2019 I think even other journalists are bored with his antics. Made a fool of himself at the White House Easter egg hunt around kids, intended to be a fun event, except for Jim. Tired of him and his antics, and the one of him at the border wall showing how there was no illegals trying to cross was a classic. Wait, what is the real problem here then? Is it a self-serving POTUS ignoring an ethical issue on the world stage while building his brand, or a journalist asking important questions, book sales or no? PS regarding the female staffer incident, the POTUS is not a private citizen and the WH is our house.
