No one has ever accused this team of being smart about personnel decisions. From top to bottom they fail on all levels - business, personnel, etc.

Bengals are one of the best at honoring contracts thru the end. If he gets a 3 year deal, it's pretty much guaranteed for all 3 years. Other teams sign and cut after a year.
That is what we call becoming BENGALIZED. Money and Loyalty first....winning is optional.

The problem with this front office is, and has always been, the same - laziness, complacency and incompetence.
The bigger problem though, is that this front office isn't going anywhere or changing anytime soon. Mike, Katie, Troy, Paul and Duke are what we're stuck with, and what will probably be stuck with for the foreseeable future.
Even when Mike steps aside / retires, I think there's good reason to believe that the rest will remain equally as inept.

All I can say is that Mike is a "different" dude and we as a fanbase suffer because of it. TO was right back in 2010 when he said the problems start from the top. It trickles down to everything else. None of us want to hear it, but as long as Mike is running this team, there is no hope.

Don't look for any movement from the #Bengals on any of their "key guys" by the trade deadline Tuesday, at this time. I'm told Cincinnati would still like to evaluate their roster when they get healthier after their bye this week.

LMAO you can only go up from 0-8, so they're already looking to win a couple games down the stretch and spin this season's failures as all due to injury. Hobspin is probably warming up his typewriter already. This team has spun the dead cat bounce so many times it's pathetic.

I don’t have any problem with him saying this IF we didn’t have any solid offers. He’s right, just because were bad doesn’t mean we should give our stars away for 3rd-4th round picks. However it’s been reported the packers offered a 1st and 3rd which is definitely a very solid offer for 1/2 year of AJ.
Sometimes good teams feel like bad teams should just hand over their good players, especially in baseball, when they are out of it. He’s right it’s not a bad teams job to make good teams better, but when the offer makes us younger, cheaper and gives more team control and when the player is aging, oft injured and in the last year of his deal-it only makes sense to take a first rounder plus and jump start the rebuild.
That offer isn’t another team trying to screw us or that feels their entitled to our stars because we’re 0-8. This is a team willing to pay a fair price or even overpay for AJ. Just take the gift they are offering and look towards the future
