First Democratic Debate - bfine32 - 10-13-2015
Tonight (10/13/2016) 8:30 ET CNN
Finally we get to hear something from the Democrats.
The line up includes:
Hillary Clinton
Bernie Sanders
Martin O'Malley
Jim Webb
Lincoln Chafee
Anybody looking for anything here (besides finding out who the hell Licoln Chaffee is)?
I'll try to watch, but there's a good chance this one is going to put me to sleep.

Didn't Chafee used to be a Republican? I am interested to see how Bernie will fare in this debate.

First question, yes, but I think he accidentally filed the paperwork as a Republican and — since he got elected as one — just rolled with it. He voted pretty well against everything the GOP was pushing back then (late 90s?).
And I'm interested in hearing Sanders and seeing how he stands up against Clinton, who is head and shoulders more polished. Sanders has sound ideas and makes some good soundbyte memes, but if he can't out debate Clinton, he doesn't stand any chance. As far as the rest, they're all vying for a VP spot, so I'm not caring too much. Whichever one of them Bernie or Clinton picks will be picked apart on late night following the election, so I'll get to know enough about them in a couple years.

Mehh. I'll watch I guess, but these never influence my opinion. It's mostly a good chance for Bernie to try to bump his poll numbers.

I hope Bernie does well.
If nothing else, he provokes thought by injecting non-conventional ideas into the arena.
I worry the panel will be a little softer on the Dems.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

What!? you don't think George Stephanopoulus....eerrr, I mean Anderson Cooper will ask hard-hitting questions of the Dems; especially Hillary?

Meh. A debate between Hillary and Sanders with some other dudes in the background. And just as much as having 456 candidates makes the GOP look a little silly, only having one and a half makes the Democrats look a little silly IMO. At least the GOP debates offer some entertainment in their contests to present the most outlandish campaign promises and posturing (to which the following day all of the other candidates say to the media, "Why I've been saying THAT for years!!!"). These two are probably going to agree on most things (or at least appear to agree with them for the moment in Hillary's case). I don't look for Sanders to go for the long ball and suddenly ask in the middle of the debate, "Hey... what about them there e-mails, Hillary?". That's not his speed. His speed is more like, "Rich people are evil... mmmkay."

Especially as her congressional hearing is next week. That email stuff ain't going away.

I suppose that makes sense if you think Hillary's biggest perceived weakness is wavering on various on trade and Bernie calling himself a socialist.
WTS, he is being more hard hitting that expected when he can ask questions in between the applause.

The "liberal media" myth can easily be debunked without appealing to subjective perception, but it would involve reading books and stuff, and I don't want to be responsible for the kind of injury that could do to some the conservatives on this board.
