FoxNews declares Dems take control of Senate - fredtoast - 01-06-2021
There will obviously be a recount, but Fox News projects both Jon Ossoff and Raephel Warnock as winners in the Senate run-off elections.
This would split the Senate at 50/50 but Vice President Kamala Harris will have the vote to break any ties.
Usually when a party takes control of both houses of congress plus the Presidency they don't hold it very long. It will be interesting to see how things go over the next couple of years. And, of course, Republicans still have a dominate 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court.

The Dems will lose the Senate in 2022, no doubt about it to me. They may even lose the House, as well. That depends a lot on how the GOP reacts int he wake of everything.

We can only hope. I suppose what matters now is how radical the Dems try an push things the next two years. Hopefully Manchin will put the breaks on the craziest ideas, which I think is likely. I suppose this is the penance the GOP must pay for not shutting down the election fraud talk.

Before Biden was elected all I heard was how he was a puppet for the extremist in the party and all his appointments would be from the radical left.
Then when he appointed more moderate liberals the right-wing media started claiming is was just for cover and he would still be implementing a socialist program.
Personally I think the Dems are too closely tied to big business to do anything close to actual socialism.

The AP has already called both races over the .05% threshold for a recount. Personally I think the republican party has already screwed themselves out of a chance to get either house back before 2024 especially after today's rioting.

In typical years I would agree with you. But the gop is all ****ed up at the moment. Mcconnell is trying 39 year old tricks to try and hold it together, which is getting his house graffitied and the capitol shot up.
Normally, I'd say you were right. But not any more. I'll be surprised if the Republicans gain much of any ground for the next 4-6 years.

They themselves thought they were done after the 2012 election though. It's easy to forget that 365 days ago it appeared Trump would cruise to reelection and the Republicans would easily hold on to the Senate... But I do agree that the party is in a world of hurt right now.
