Fiona: Yes I'm lying, but can't we talk about another subject? - GMDino - 10-30-2015 Quote:Carly Fiorina Confronts New Post-Debate Factcheck Its an interesting tact that I've seen this political cycle. Say anything you want...get told its either a stretch or a huge, flat out whopper of a lie, and then ignore it and ask why people are simply repeating what was said last time you lied and ask why we don't talk about "important" subjects. Used to be the candidate would at least try to spin their statement into something closer to the truth if they could or claim to be misquoted at least...or even taken out of context. Very clever. Especially when people are believing the lies. Very clever indeed. "Lost during his administration", not "lost because of his administration." Not terribly different from "you can keep your doctor....every family will save $2500....the attack was because of a video...a few rogue agents in a satellite office" RE: Fiona: Yes I'm lying, but can't we talk about another subject? - GMDino - 10-30-2015 (10-30-2015, 09:35 AM)michaelsean Wrote: But wasn't she technically telling the truth? I...am...stunned. In other news, water is wet. I was using this to demonstrate the latest tactic: Lie then tell people you don't want to talk about it and accuse them of not caring about important things. In the past a pol would lie and then try and spin it. Or they would spin something and try to lie about it. Now they just lie and attack anyone who question them or calls them out. Its a newer thing. Or is it just a Democratic tactic HuffPo hasn't made you aware of? How would you even know the difference!? What difference, at this point, does it make?!? RE: Fiona: Yes I'm lying, but can't we talk about another subject? - Nebuchadnezzar - 10-31-2015 Repeat a lie often enough it will become the "Truth" even after the lie is known to be. "I can see Russia from my house" Remember that skit from Saturday Night Live? You don't remember that? Oh, you thought she actually said it? This isn't directed at anyone here on this board since most here know Palin didn't say that, at least I hope they know, but there were many "Voters" who did think Palin actually said it. Remember when Harry Reed said "Romney paid no taxes for ten years"? Just another lie that when repeated enough it became true. How about "Read my lips, no new taxes" "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" WMD's Gulf of Tonkin So many lies told and so many people believe them that lead to disaster. "Jews are the enemy" "Communism" So many lies. RE: Fiona: Yes I'm lying, but can't we talk about another subject? - GMDino - 10-31-2015 (10-31-2015, 03:50 AM)JustWinBaby Wrote: Oh really? This article was a good example. Because I observe human behavior. Not much, just thought it was interesting that instead of simply spinning and clarifying now its lie and attack anyone who calls you out and say they should talk about important things. Awwww, that's sweet. Someday you'll mature to the point of asking that question of your own party. Because I've noticed you just don't post this stuff about Democrats....in fact you pretty much do the opposite, straining to posts apologies. And I don't think its any secret I lean liberal, especially on social issues. But in all your responses you have not addressed that fact that Fiona simply lies. Clearly and without any other way of spinning it. Do *you* perhaps need to mature? |
