This is, to me, one of the more disgusting examples of late-stage capitalism I have seen.

WTF?

I fully understand that losing employees is hard and replacing good employees is harder, but they really wanted (and received so far) an injunction to stop employees from taking a BETTER job just because of that?

How could a court agree to a stay like that?

This is actually a scary ruling. It completely ignores that some of the employees offered to stay for more money but the company refused to even consider it. The other issue is, the length of the injunction is dependent on the company being able to fill these positions...WHO THE HELL is GOING THERE NOW!? I hope they can get an expedited reversal, but I also hope the judge finds himself facing consequences from the state bar.

I can't wait for Amazon to use such a claim to stave off mass strikes or walkouts under the guise of the potential collapse of society. Also, I wonder if the same logic applies to mass firings like what we saw with Broker.com where dude just immediately fired 900 people to make more profits before going public? Of course it doesn't, because something something free market.

The injunction has been lifted and the employees are free to start their new jobs.
