Latest Poll Shows Donald Trump Is Least Favorably Viewed Candidate in 25 Years - GMDino - 02-01-2016 http://www.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/188936/trump-negative-image.aspx Quote:Most political and media commentators have at this point installed Donald Trump as the GOP front-runner on the eve of the first actual voting set to begin on Monday in Iowa. But this narrative tends to obscure the fact that Trump is the most unpopular candidate of either party when the entire U.S. population is taken into account -- and that he has a higher unfavorable rating than any nominated candidate from either of the two major parties going back to the 1992 election when we began to track favorability using the current format. RE: Latest Poll Shows Donald Trump Is Least Favorably Viewed Candidate in 25 Years - fredtoast - 02-01-2016 Kind of OT, but I had forgotten that Perot got 19% of the vote '92. I think George Wallace got about 15% of the vote in '68. What do you guys think Trump would get if he ran as third party candidate? Damn good question. I don't think he'll do it, but maybe 10-12%? I always say that's about the average of nutcases in any given section of the population. If Trump runs third party, it'll be something along the lines of 22% (Trump), 33% (GOP candidate) 45% (Dem). As far as the OP, it's not surprising. Most people in this country are generally decent people. Trump isn't. As crazy as it sounds, I bet he would get at least 25% of the Republican vote if he ran third party. A Democrat is going to win the presidency because of Donald Trump. If he don't win the nomination, he will run Independant and steal votes from the Republican nominee and if he does win the nomination, Republicans are going to stay home and not vote. Donald Trump is bad for this country and Republicans are screwed. My opinion of course. Hmm, I was going to say that Trump supporters may be more misguided than "not decent" but they also seem to correlate mocking the disabled with strong foreign policy...so maybe they're both. Agreed, Perot sort of helped Clinton win the presidency and after that the powers that be decided no 3rd party candidate is allowed to upset the delicate balance. Trump is trolling everyone. I thought he was doing it just to blackmail the RNC to bow out of the primaries. Maybe he is doing it to influence the results. Or maybe he was paid off? Say it 3 times and spin in a circle and it may come true. But only if you are facing East when you stop your spin. I've been saying this for a long time, but I could be wrong. I sort of hope he wins, but that's mostly because I'm a bitter masochist who wants to see the whole world suffer. If you are like me, you foresee some sort of entertainment factor. Of course that's not a good reason to vote for President, but I'm starting to not care. |
