Wow. And a Christmas album sold better around Christmas? I'm stunned. ![]() I thought conservatives understood how markets and sales worked? ![]() BTW, "little known"? She's a Pittsburgh girl. Lots of people know her. Quote:Evancho, at age 10, was the youngest solo artist ever to debut in the top 10 on the Billboard 200,[8] and the youngest solo artist ever to go platinum in the U.S.[9][10] As of June 2015, Evancho had sold a total of more than 3 million albums.[11] She had four albums in the top 20 and all of them went to #1 on the Classical Charts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Evancho_discography#Chart_performance_analysis Looks like lots of success with singles also on the classical chart. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Evancho_discography#Singles I'm guessing you never heard her sing though until Trump mentioned her. ![]() RE: Take that, entertainment industry libs! - SunsetBengal - 12-26-2016 (12-26-2016, 09:39 PM)GMDino Wrote: So someone got press, and her album sold more. From Pittsburgh, eh? Yeah, Trump won PA. I guess you missed that part in the posted article, where it mentioned Trump detractors attacking her, and noted that it would "ruin" her career? Well, I'm sure that you noticed it. After all, it was a short article. You just likely ignored that detail, as it didn't fit the theme of your comeback post.. ![]() RE: Take that, entertainment industry libs! - GMDino - 12-26-2016 (12-26-2016, 09:51 PM)SunsetBengal Wrote: From Pittsburgh, eh? Yeah, Trump won PA. I didn't care because that's not what you commented on in the "short little article". That's like using the comments section to determine who is the worst kind of person. Not one person argued that. The article calls her "virtually unknown"...that is wrong. Then is says "Trump detractors" with no link to who or how many. Not sure how that translated into your mind as: Quote:Get with the program, L.A. and NYC. Trump is going to be the POTUS, weather you keep kicking and screaming, or not... But then if I understood Trump fans I could maybe have shown them the error of their thought process to begin with. Oh, and again, you never heard of her before Trump's team got her to sing the Star Spangled Banner did you? ![]() RE: Take that, entertainment industry libs! - SunsetBengal - 12-26-2016 (12-26-2016, 10:06 PM)GMDino Wrote: I didn't care because that's not what you commented on in the "short little article". I try so hard to just think of you as another neighbor, just like the guy next door, except we voted differently. But, you're so caught up in the Liberal talking agenda, that you likely still think Hillary is going to be awarded the presidency... But hey, if yelling at people over the internet and making sweeping generalizations of entire cities based on that article makes you happier have at it. And Merry Christmas! Wait... So, having one's music noticed because of acceptance to perform at political function = bad Refusing to perform at political function = good? BUT they are all for infrastructure spending...as long as it's not Obama's plan. She's just getting exposed to a bunch of people like Sunset who never heard of her before so they rushed out to "support her" because she's "on their side". As opposed to: Being on American Idol, Singing the Anthem at the ballgame, Being discovered singing at a small club, making a porno with someone famous, ect...? I would assume most artists would do a great many things to get their music out to a larger crowd. Dogging the young lady for this seems like sour grapes on a number of levels. And I'd generally agree with you that most musicians will do whatever they can to reach the greatest audience possible. But I understand that in this day and age some people will be put off by whatever side some entertainer backs. It doesn't stop me from watching an actor's work, but I will disagree with their public statements. (Not that she has made any one way or the other...just a generic statement of how I deal with their politics.) |
