Should get an extra $10,000 and an honorary literal Liberal Arts degree for this totally not insane work of art.

R or D, who wants to see shit like this in their city LOL

Granted these people are the only ones that I've actually discussed it with.

But you may be right maybe we are in the minority.

Meh, a local small business contractor we paid to side our house 2 years ago was bitching about the covid relief handouts before I told him that he was going to be taking home and cashing both of the handout checks the wife and I got so people can feel one way and act another.

Plus you and that contractor can both rest easy knowing that your political party is fighting hard to make abortion a federal crime, so everyone wins.

It may surprise you but the farmer is a lifelong Democrat, the contractor is a staunch Republican & I'm an Independent.

Surprising as it is we all actually agree this is wrong on many levels.

That doesn't surprise me as there is some amount of bi partisan support for it, too.  This mostly comes down to whether the individual "gets stuff" or not, I assume.  I guess it's possible people who didn't vote for Biden who have more honor than I do would simply turn it down. But I'd assume the three of you can have different political affiliations but share a lack of student loan debt based upon your disapproval of this measure. That's logical in my book, but I'd assume it's so.

The thing about getting something is that you can convince yourself you deserve it.  And the thing about watching someone else get something you don't get is that you can convince yourself they don't deserve it.

Anyways, I'm sidetracking all the good time joking going on in this thread.

You would be a great addition to our (Me & my neighbors) conversations/debates. Those 2 locked in, me stirring the pot & you straddling the fence would be a lot of fun.

Hell of a thing to subject them to.  I will say that the "what's in it for me?" aspect of politics makes me realize that we grow and age, but in many ways we are still that same 5 year old trying to not freak out as we watch our friend open presents on his birthday.

You always steal my stuff!

Side note, I was popular and perceptive enough as a kid to realize that if I played my cards right I could be over at the birthday boy's house playing with all that sweet loot in no time.  Nothing better than seeing a kid who is starved for friendship (and has parents who make him take his Ritalin) get a sweet Nintendo game you don't own.

Even better was eating all the snacks, whooping their privileged asses on their own power pad and listening their dad scream about the racket while slinking out the back door to get home.
