The part I am curious about is DJT saying it never happened, because it does not matter if it happened or not , as you acknowledge. My best guess there would be maybe it is part of the non disclosure agreement, which does not allow DJT to admit to the infidelity as well?
Part of what I heard (I did not verify this myself) about the NDA was that it only covered Stormy Daniels and she believed it would be for both parties but it was not.

You tell me, do you believe Daniels version it happened or her other version it never happened after she got the money?
I don't believe Donald Trump has a habit of paying hush money to women he did not have an affair with.

I don't care. I just find it odd that you believe Trump.

I haven't read much into myself and likely will not follow up. I was just guess, and your guess is as good as mine.

Wait, so people aren't even sure what Trump and Stormy did or if they even had sex in the first place but we are also saying that Stormy testifying about what happened was unnecessary?

Interestingly enough, he finds it odd that people believe Trump when Trump talks about going after people and locking them up.

I am still baffled how a disbarred attorney is permitted to testify against his former client. What happened to Attorney-Client Privileges?

But what crime was committed? Believe it or not, this is routine in the business world. People pay to protect their marriage and their brand just like companies do.

Former President Donald J. Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, all stemming from accusations that he covered up a $130,000 hush-money payment to a porn star, Stormy Daniels, to suppress her story of a sexual liaison with him.
Why are they felony charges? Here are the basics.
What is a felony?
A felony is a crime of greater seriousness than a misdemeanor, and conviction of a felony carries the possible penalty of a year or more in prison.
Falsifying business records in New York State can be a misdemeanor, but prosecutors can bring the charge as a felony if they believe the records were falsified to conceal another crime.
Manhattan district attorney Alvin L. Bragg had suggested that Mr. Trump concealed three potential crimes, although he has not charged him with any of those.
Prosecutors do not need to prove such crimes were committed — only that there was “the intent to commit or conceal” an additional crime.

The Donald Trump Indictment, Annotated
The indictment unveiled in April 2023 centers on a hush-money deal with a porn star, but a related document alleges a broader scheme to protect Donald J. Trump’s 2016 campaign.
What do the business records show?
The $130,000 payment was made by Mr. Trump’s fixer, Michael D. Cohen, in the final days of the 2016 campaign. Mr. Cohen said he had done so at Mr. Trump’s direction.
While “hush money” payments are not necessarily illegal, Mr. Trump reimbursed Mr. Cohen during his presidency. In internal records, Mr. Trump’s company classified the repayment to Mr. Cohen as legal expenses, citing a retainer agreement. Prosecutors say there were no such expenses or retainer agreement.
The records related to the reimbursement underpin the 34 counts of falsifying business records: 11 counts involve the checks issued to Mr. Cohen, 11 center on monthly invoices Mr. Cohen submitted to the company, and 12 involve entries in the general ledger for Mr. Trump’s trust.
What crimes do prosecutors believe Trump was trying to conceal?
Prosecutors have suggested three possible crimes since filing the charges against Mr. Trump last year: a federal campaign finance violation, tax fraud and a state election-law crime. But since the start of the trial, they have largely focused on the state election-law crime: conspiracy to promote or prevent election.
Prosecutors have framed the falsified documents as concealing a broader conspiracy to protect Mr. Trump’s campaign. They allege that Mr. Trump and Mr. Cohen coordinated with the former publisher of The National Enquirer, David Pecker, to bury stories that could damage Mr. Trump’s campaign and promote others that would harm his political rivals.
Mr. Pecker testified about how the tabloid purchased the story of a Playboy model, Karen McDougal, who said she’d had an affair with Mr. Trump, and about how he declined to buy Ms. Daniels’s story and suggested that Mr. Cohen buy it instead.

This is the charge stacking I mentioned previously, if I am understanding things correctly.
The claim in DJT paid 130k, from campaign finances as "legal fees" to protect his election chances.
As I understand it, which may be the problem as I am not a lawyer, the first 11 charges are because the hush money was broken up into 11 payments. Then the next 11 were for the paperwork submitted to DJT, documenting the payments, and the remaining charges being the documentation on DJT's side.
It just stinks, as I understand it.
Maybe I am wrong, but if they did that to anyone else we would say the DA is out to get him and trying to railroad the guy.
But maybe I am not seeing something?

Anyone notice that when Trump comes out to cry about being in court he always says "they are keeping me from campaigning" and never says "they are keeping me away from my family"?

Hmm, seems more like a fishing expedition than an actual prosecution for a confirmed crime.

you mean like Republicans are looking for stuff on the "Biden Crime Family"
or how about Mike Johnson saying they are going to make laws preventing non-citizens from voting because they know "intuitively" it is happening even if there is no proof
with Trump they have actual evidence of wrong doing

Hmmm...sems like they are having a trial to determine if it is a crime or not as it will be breaking laws as presented.
But that's why Trump has a defense team.
Well, that and to ask if Stormy blacked out because the sex was so good and to say Trump did very well at the golf tournament where they met...lol.

Apples to oranges.
If Dems impeach Trump for abuse of office and insurrection,
it's only fair that Repubs impeach Biden for something too. Then both sides do it.
Also, if you keep basing charges on actual evidence, it will create a two-tiered justice system
in which Trump and cronies are always prosecuted by Dem and RINO Republican prosecutors.

I'd roll my eyes less at conservatives wanting to impeach or prosecute Biden if they could shut up for 3 seconds about how Trump being impeached and prosecuted makes him 100000% more awesome and a lock to win the 2024 election in a landslide.
On a similar note, Trump wearing diapers is awesome but Biden wearing them is super lame-o.
