BTW this may seem like a joke to some people, but what if a black man was shot by a neighborhood watch member who has chosen to honor the Confederacy over the United States.

Could any of you seriously blame the black community for believing that the shooting was racially motivated?  George Zimmer was a neighborhood watch member, and he would probably be in prison if he was flying the Confederate flag.

You can say this is not right.  But I say anyone who intentionally invokes the Confederacy instead of the United States is asking to be branded as a racists.  And when they do that they can not complain about the outcome.

And this works BOTH ways.  If a Muslim was wearing a Bin Laden T-shirt when he shot a Jew then people are going to assume it was politically motivated even if it was a legit self-defense.  And when there are no witnesses, like in the Zimmer case, this is a big problem.

What I was surprised at was that American Indians owned black slaves.

What I always knew was that black Americans owned slaves. Slavery was a part of black/African culture, yet the low information brainwashed liberals to this day envision slavery only as evil white people being bad to blacks.

If he's burning down the local convenience store, or smash and grabbing from the Best Buy, chances are he might get it...

In the 60's we were a far less secular nation than we are now.  In the 60's had JFK been any denomination but Catholic, he could have mixed his faith and politics and it would not have been a big deal.

In the 60's Catholics were not looked upon very favorably by Southern Evangelicals/protestants, and Kennedy being the first Catholic president scared the crap out of them, after all, he was gonna be in cahoots with Pope! 

All the criticism of his Catholic faith prompted Kennedy to deliver a speech solely on this matter to which he said in a nutshell that his faith (Catholic) or any other should be separate and will not impact his policy decisions.

I really don't want to derail this thread, but I just don't understand the idea that deadly force is justified if there is only a threat to property. Obviously arson can cause a danger to life, but not always, and the smash and grab doesn't. I'm just not materialistic enough, I suppose.

Community watch groups are supposed to be for residential neighborhoods.

Sounds like this is some sort of private security force (lynch mob) for commercial businesses.

Plus, you should tell him that if he shoots a looter that is not threatening his life he will go to jail for a long time.
