Seems to me if you're born in Canada, you're a Canadian, regardless of where your parents were born. Sounds like sliding in through a loophole. As ridiculous as it seems, children of illegal aliens born in the USA are Americans. Why doesn't the reverse apply?
I stick to the no more Texans thing. I don't trust anything that comes from Texas except beef.

Personally I'd take the opinion of those not giving Trump any chances of winning more to heart if they had given him any chance of doing so well thus far.

If a parent is a U.S. citizen and is sent overseas for a job. While overseas working, a child is born, then the parents return; what country would you consider the child to be a citizen of?

This election really drives home the saying "never underestimate the power of dumb people in big groups."
Trump is on the record of loving his voters like SN though.

And even among his own party there are more people who hate him than like him. There is no way in hell he wins a general election. Americans are not all politcally savvy, but they are not dumb enough to elect Trump.

What if Clinton gets the nod and Trump convinces Sanders to run as his VP ?

Count me in this group. I would have sworn the circus would have ended by now. Now I feel it might be my Civic duty to vote Democrat instead of third party this year.

So you would vote for a criminal or a socialist that would further destroy this country than for Trump?
Of course continue calling Trump supporters dumb. At least we don't support a criminal in Clinton or an idealist in Sanders.

Is idealist a euphemism for crackpot? Anybody who votes for that guy needs their head examined.

This. I feel, as I said before the guideline is there to keep a first generation immigrant form the gaining POTUS. So no Presidentinator.

It's more likely the Bengals win the Superbowl this June. Or the 'Cards finally hoist up that Stanley Cup.

No more Texans in the White House, please.
No. McCain wasn't born in the US. The Constitution doesn't say born in the US, just natural born citizen. Currently, legal analysts define that as born in the US or born abroad to a US parent.

But if you're born in Canada and your father is Canadian, how is that not different?

Didn't Cruz have dual citizenship and then revoke his Canadian one to run for POTUS?

Regardless of what polls say; Republicans will not stay at home and give the White House to Clinton because they don't like Trump. They are smart enough to realize that a president goes the way of his/her cabinet.
Something drastic certainly needs to happen, however, even Muslim socialist Obama didn't cause Republicans to come out to support McCain as much as they supported W. I certainly don't believe all 32% of them will stay home, but enough.

Any parent. Your parent is a citizen, you are a citizen.

Well, doubling the stock market, raising home prices, and creating millions of jobs was a change that most people agreed with.

His father was a Cuban who fled to America. He was working in Canada, so he became a Canadian. Cruz was born there and his mother — Eleanor Elizabeth Darragh Wilson — was living there at the time. Although being married to other non-citizens and living abroad, she never renounced her citizenship. But, yes, she was still a citizen, so, yes, Cruz is, too.
In the same way if you married someone from Russia, lived in Australia for several years, and had a kid, your kid is a U.S. citizen.

I think you're thinking of his dad. He renounced being Canadian in 2005 and was accepted as an American citizen.
