Depends on who defines that....  Definitions on this forum get blown way out of bounds.

Case in point ... If you are against open borders in an immigration debate then you must be a racist

Too many here are quick to cast out labeling people something negative because they are frustrated with The discussion.   Maybe instead of wasting everyone's time calling people racist, bigot, or insert insult here.... Just agree to Disagree.

I disagree only to the point that past history will affect how what someone posts is taken.

Being against weak borders doesn't make someone racist.  Calling people savages and animals and posting racist things might though.  So add the two together and assumptions get made.

Just my two cents.

Fair enough.

Using spicey language or a matter of fact posting style doesn't make someone a hate monger either.

That's my 2 cents.
Woman mistaken for transgender harassed in Walmart bathroom

http://www.ctpost.com/local/article/Woman-mistaken-for-transgender-harassed-in-7471666.php

Quote:DANBURY - Aimee Toms was washing her hands in the women’s bathroom at Walmart in Danbury Friday when a stranger approached her and said, “You’re disgusting!” and “You don’t belong here!”

After momentary confusion, she realized that the woman next to her thought - because of her pixie-style haircut and baseball cap - that she was transgender.

Toms believes the incident happened because of the national controversy sparked by a law that was passed in North Carolina attempting to force transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender they were identified as at birth. Since then, religious conservatives have launched a boycott of Walmart competitor Target, which has said transgender people are welcome to use its bathrooms freely. Nationally, Walmart has been silent on the issue.

Toms, a 22-year-old from Naugatuck who works at a retail store in the Bethel-Danbury retail area around Walmart, posted a video “rant” about her experience on Facebook Friday that had been viewed more than 12,000 times by Sunday evening.

“After experiencing the discrimination they face firsthand, I cannot fathom the discrimination transgender people must face in a lifetime,” she said. “Can you imagine going out every day and having people tell you you should not be who you are or that people will not accept you as who you are?”

Warning: Video contains graphic language that some viewers may find offensive.

Toms said on Sunday that she isn’t embarrassed talking about someone mistaking her for male, just upset that the North Carolina law has emboldened people like the woman she encountered.

“I think this is all just a response. No one was telling these people to be scared of transgender people before. No one was telling them that they should be throwing people out of bathrooms,” Toms said. “As if it wasn’t scary enough for transgender people to use the bathroom before.”

Besides being a pretty normal choice of style for women, Toms’ has a short haircut because she recently donated hair - for the third time - to a program that makes wigs for child cancer patients.

“I’ve had people call me all sorts of names for having short hair. I’ve had people call me a boy, I’ve had people call me a dyke, I’ve had people call me gay.” Toms said. “I’m grateful that that woman only called me disgusting and didn’t physically attack me … I was a victim of transphobia today as a cisgender female because my hair is short.”

Toms said she was supportive of transgender rights before Friday’s Walmart experience. She is close friends with several transgender people, including someone she went to high school with who went from prom queen to identifying as a male.

She thought her video would be seen only by friends and family, and was surprised to soon be getting messages of support from people “all across the country.”

Toms’ video has gone viral in part because of her blunt retelling of the incident and articulate plea for better treatment of transgender people.

“I saw it, and it happened, and i thought to myself, ‘this is unbelievable.’ She said, ‘you are not supposed to be here. You need to leave.’ She flipped me off. She said, ‘you’re disgusting,’ and she storms out,” Toms explains in the video. “She thought I was someone who was transgender. She thought I was a dude who was hiding in the women’s bathroom.”

Toms explains that she was wearing a baseball cap at the time, and she models it on the video. (“I look adorable in a baseball cap!”)

“I get it. The short hair. The baseball cap. I was wearing a plain blue T-shirt. She saw me from the back,” Toms said. But “... at the sake of sounding blunt, I’m not a flat-chested person. I have got something going on up here.”

Man follows woman into restroom...

...after mistaking her for a man

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/collin-county/man-follows-woman-into-restroom-after-mistaking-her-for-a-man/160568442

Quote:FRISCO, Texas -- It was an unsettling bathroom counter that Jessica Rush will never forget.

Rush was inside a bathroom Thursday at Baylor Medical Center in Frisco when a man barged into the women’s bathroom because he thought she was a male.

“You didn’t look like a girl when I saw you enter. I thought you was a…,” the man told her with a heavy accent.

“A boy?” she asked him.

“Yes, I was kind of confused when I saw this,” the unidentified man. “That’s the only reason. Now that I see you are a woman. … You know it’s difficult. Of course, you dress like a man. You dress like a man.”

Rush recorded the encounter and posted it to her Facebook page, the latest episode in what’s quickly becoming a hot debate over who can use which bathroom.

“I’m clearly a woman,” said Rush, who wears her hair in a platinum faux hawk. “I was just in basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Nothing out of the ordinary.”

Rush says the man came in with a woman that she later learned was his mother. She was about to go into a stall when he confronted her.

“He scared me more than anything,” she said. “I was shocked. I didn’t even know what to do so that’s when I flipped on my video camera.”

She’d gone to the hospital that day after breaking a couple of her fingers when she fell.

“Regardless of it being a woman’s bathroom, why come in and then start attacking me personally?” said Rush, who manages a restaurant. “That’s scary to me as a five-foot-three, five-foot-four female.”

Later in the lobby, she recorded another video while discussing with him why he had come into that bathroom. He says he was worried because he thought a man had gone into the bathroom that his mother was about to use. He wanted to make sure that his mother was going into the right bathroom.

"The point is I was helping my mom. I was confused when I see someone entering the woman's bathroom looking like a man," he told her.

Rush says it’s the not the first time her gender has been called into question. She says another time she went into the women’s locker room at a gym.

“A lady came and tapped me on the back and said, ‘Excuse me, sir,” she said. “And as soon as I turned around, she said, ‘I’m sorry. sorry. I thought you were a boy.’’

Rush says the incidents just go to show that you can’t you can’t always make assumptions about someone’s gender by the way they look.

“I do feel for the transgenders because this happened to me,” she said. “I can only imagine someone who is taking testosterone and growing facial hair and still having to go to the women’s bathroom.”

“If I do go into the women’s bathroom, then I clearly identify as a woman whether I’m trans or not, which I’m not and I don’t plan to be,” Rush said. “I just think everybody just needs to kind of stay to themselves and don’t be the bathroom police.”

Yep. The very tiny group of pediatricians that focus more on political issues than medical and split away from the main pediatric organization because of it.

I'm basing my accusation more on the large focus on items for policy makers on their page.

How can we keep these Christian white males out of the women's bathroom? I've got a special shower for them too.

Can only assume you didn't watch the video that Fred posted about the dude following the woman into the restroom.

This article really doesn't help the trans position.
This woman was afraid of a man in the ladies room.
Wouldn't the same effect happen when a trans woman rolls in there with a 5 o'clock shadow ?
Just seems ironic to me.

Yea, that came out a while ago. Not surprising considering the group was founded in protest of gay people being allowed to adopt. Check out their website a little more. They tell parents that they need to stop their kids if they think they're gay and argue against gay parents. They promote therapy to "cure" being gay and cite groups like the Family Research Council, a group to lobbies against gay rights.

That should give you an idea of their very clear agenda. Not surprisingly, their membership is nearly non-existent.

You mean they support counseling for mental disorders?

How dare they encourage people to get help.

Personally I cannot believe Dino posted a link of a brown-skinned immigrant following a woman into the bathroom.

Haven't we had enough of that fear mongering?
