Funny... but I'd almost cut the lady a break on that one.
She probably only had a quick look an paired it with the Maltese cross on his visor.
I just want to see a video of how long the cop laughed though.
Holy crap, where to start with this one (and I'm no Jonestown expert)...
BUT, Jim Jones had his cult complex set up in Guyana, not the USA, possibly because Guyana is far more lax about cults with assault weapons and obscene amounts of poison (not that making buying tons of cyanide, or holding people at gunpoint illegal would stop anything). Additionally, his enforcers carried firearms and other weapons to prevent non-believers from entering and to intimidate or outright murder people who were no longer sold on the plan from leaving the complex (a handful of people were shot and it's naive to believe 0 of the people who drank the kool aid didn't do so for fear of being simply shot if they disobeyed their leader), and to keep people from entering in order to liberate those who wanted to leave and/or rescue those who didn't.
So yea, lots of people drank poisoned kool aid because they were idiots, but guns and a supremely lax, gun control-free, and overall hands-off governmental style seemed to play a pretty big part in this, as well. I guess the short of it is that IF kool aid and cultism were all that was needed to lead to all those deaths why the guns, the shootings, and the guarding?

It may very well be, but my point is that the same people who say stuff like "Why worry about gun deaths when heart disease is a bigger killer?!" are the same ones screaming about Michelle Obama being a mean, food-hating transvestite for forcing this country to...you know...get less heart disease, strokes, diabetes, etc..
