Of course no one wants to see jobs gone.

And with that said, I've been thinking about moving my business South of the Border too. Can someone pass this along to the Trump people so I can also get a 'sweetheart deal'. Thanks, bros! :andy:

(You should get in on this deal too, bro. It's sweeet!!!!)

C'mon man, don't hate the guy in his role, just because you don't like his persona.  Wouldn't that be the equivalent of people hating on Obama just because he's Muslim? Ninja

I've been telling my boss that for days now!

We have TWO plants...one in Ohio and one in PA.

That's gonna be one sweet deal from the President!

You do realize that state tax incentives have been going on A LOT longer than Trump and Carrier?   It's usually - usually - only an issue when a company wants to move jobs from IN to Mexico, and not IN to TN.  Often you'll see a blurb in the local papers about sweetheart deals to keep a company from moving to IN to TN, but it usually won't get coverage in HuffPo or Politico.

And so if you don't read local news or don't live in a big city this practice is probably news to you...but states have been using tax incentives to attract and keep businesses for many, many years.

Actually I was a cub reporter when Sony announced they were moving into the old VW plant 20 minutes from my home.

The one the vacated and ran when their tax incentives ran out.

I was at the press conference and asked the other reporters what happens when the tax break for Sony runs out.

Yeah, they ran too...

However I don't remember the POTUS doing it directly.

The one in OH can say they are moving operations to PA, while the one in PA tells the local media they are moving to OH! It's beautiful! They both can avoid taxes!!

Question now is, how many voters drive trucks and how many are climate scientists?

Oh, there's serious and bigly implications of that.  The tax break isn't it, though.

This mostly likely was going to happen with or without Trump's election.  That's assuming his threats of punitive taxes/tariffs wasn't a factor (which is an entirely other argument, and a very concerning one).

I just want criticism to be accurate and on point.  This is the problem with present-day media - they step on their dicks because of agenda when there's a huge mozzaball they should be hammering.

Exactly.  He's taking credit for something he probably didn't have any control over...and if he did he mire than likely just created a bigger problem down the road.
