Lefties in the UK protested Trump by flying a blimp of Trump in a diaper. The news hyped it up for couple weeks when the organized protestors announced they would have this float at their rally. 

This "float" made it's depute and it wasn't really this high flying masterpiece. It was about 15 feet tall and only flew as high as the people holding it could reach their arm up. It got people talking, but didn't live up to the hype.

I believe this meme format was originally a left wing meme, but was quickly highjacked by right wingers.

London's murder rate beat out New York for the first time ever last year and has been trending that way since. Guns are banned in the UK, but knife crime is super high despite often mocked (by right wingers at least) knife ban. Rape has also dramatically increased in London as of late as well. But the gun issues is secondary for this meme. Brits aren't exactly becoming more violent toward each other. Muslim refugees are largely responsible for the violent crime increases (this is the argument of the meme - not saying it's mine). Hence, it becomes a right wing meme.

My enjoyment with this meme isn't the fact that it's a right wing point, but rather the depth behind how much goes into a single random meme. That's true for much of what I post even if 90% are pro-Trump or right leaning on the surface.

That's not true. There was a short outlier in the beginning of 2018 in which London narrowly beat out NY for two months, but over the whole year NY had twice as many murders as London. Source

Okay, good source. London murder rate is no longer higher than NY's, but it's still on pace for a 10 year high so it doesn't change the point of the upward changing murder rate of London.
