Within 2 days we have lost 2 of our main Depth guys at DT. Glasgow and now Topou opting out.
Who can we bring in at this stage to fill that 650 pounds we just lost?
I heard some folks ask for Jernigan, .....too bad we lost Billings.

Remember seeing somewhere the thought of maybe bringing Peko back.

Let me see what my ex is up to. She might play? She's very defensive.

We will have first dibs on the waiver wire when players get released. That will be a big benefit.

I don’t think we’re in too much trouble if Wren can backup Reader and Brown can backup Geno. Then you have Dunlap, Hubbard, Lawson and Kareem at DE. That’s 8 guys and you’re maybe looking for 1 more back up DT?

I’d like to give Jernigan a shot if he’s healthy. I’m a no on Peko way past his prime at 35 and it’s not like he knows the defensive system because we have a new DC. Always a big no for me on ancient guys like Peko or Jason Peters.

Why trade anything, when there are viable options out there, free for the signing?

Because Solomon Thomas has a much higher upside than any other free agent option!

We don't need a starter, we're looking to replace a couple of depth guys..

How would it hurt to get a starting caliber player on the cheap?

Depends if you consider a 4th cheap. We got (what could be) a pretty good player in the 4th this year in ADG.

I'm pretty high on him former 3rd overall pick who has played out of position on the Edge when he is more a 3T. I think he could be a steal for a 4th or 5th RD pick. I get what you're saying about 4th being too much though.

I would pass every day on Solomon Thomas. First he is a tall 6'2 275lbs so he is actually closer to Carl Lawson's size than Geno's... Secondly and most importantly does he actually want to play football? He has zero drive to be great he takes plays off doesn't rally to the football etc... etc...
No Thank You.
I have the Heart of a Lion! I also have a massive fine and a lifetime ban from the Pittsburgh Zoo...

You are 100% correct that the Niners are playing him out of position on the edge. But they traded away Pro Bowl DT DeForest Buckner so I dont see them getting rid of Thomas.

1.) Ok he is small but still just as strong as Geno. Geno had 34 in his combine vs Solomon who had 30.
2.) He is an Athletic freak who has the explosion and speed to Excel at the three Technique.
3.) Why judge the guys heart like that? It seems totally unnecessary!

That's what I'm thinking. Brown was probably on the bubble until the exits of Glasgow and JT. I think Wren and Brown are worth a shot. Bring in another guy or 2 for camp and move on.
