Ask Jim Owczarski

What's up with Pacman having pictures of a removed cast on his Instagram page?  He good to go?

He's in a boot, and not practicing today. If it was anyone else, I'd say he's listed as doubtful, but 100% not playing on Sunday. As it's Jones, my guess is he's listed as doubtful, but a 50/50 gametime decision on Sunday... Jim probably has a better feel for this than me, though. :p

Jim, I remember a few years ago (not sure of the year), we played in Denver, and Geno Atkins couldn't play much because he has sickle cell trait and is affected by high altitudes. Do you know of his status for the Denver game?

Here's an article from 2011 addressing this, what Geno has to say about it, and how he has learned to deal with it: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cdcsocialmedia/7248955672

Thanks.  That may be the article I saw back then.  I  know he played in Denver, but I'm not sure how much.

Profootballreference.com snap count records only go back to 2012, but I am sure there would be a record of it somewhere.

McCarron will face the toughest D he's ever faced IN Denver with the Broncos' playoff hopes literally on the line. The one thing that McCarron did not do well is holding the ball too long and taking unnecessary sacks. The thing he did do well was throw the deep ball.

How many times do you think Hue will go deep on Denver? I fee; that is the way to score on Denver, but our OLine needs to hold up.

I just watched the condensed game on NFL Game Rewind and only counted the times i actually saw him on the field.

20 snaps in the first half
5 snaps in the second half. The 5 snaps were spread out (that i actually saw).

There could have been more that i missed.

OK, so it did have a major effect on him.  We need to win this game Monday so we don't have to play in Denver in the playoffs.

As he noted in the article, i would think what had an effect on him was playing 10 almost consecutive snaps on the first drive of the game.

If they spell him better, he shouldn't have any trouble.

OK this isn't a Bengal question or NFL question per say but a question about the game of Football all together. What steps can and should be taken to make the game safer especially when it comes to head trauma? I know its a heavy question just curious on your thoughts on the matter.

Jim, any news as to weather Jake Fisher is going to be cleared from concussion protocol this week?

How limited will Atkins be in Denver given his sickle cell trait?

How much interaction is there between head coaches and refs?

Also, how in shape do these refs have to be? Is there a physical to take? Eye test? (Just had to throw that in)

Question for you Jim: are the media aware of the term "Marvinball" and the tendency he has to stop attacking once we have a lead? If so, what are your thoughts on this?

Second Question- How important is Duke Tobin to this team and how much of a say does he get in the making of the roster?
