My absolute firearms goal is to own a MG42 Schwere (essentially the MG42 on a heavy tripod). Of course that will never happen in CA with the laws as is, but in the meantime I'll settle for firing off a few hundred rounds of 8mm Mauser out of one. Your friend's place sounds like a ball.
