But even if private charities were more efficient it has been proven that they can not meet the demand.  People simply do not give enough voluntarily to help all the people in need.

Many charities are indeed scams, but those that are not are far more capable of meeting needs than the government. People do not give enough voluntarily because the government takes WAY more than it should. Glad we agree on that.
