That's the problem with ad hoc arguments. Sure, it sounds good to say stuff like sugar kills more people than bullets, so if you're pro sugar, you're pro guns... But it doesn't address gun control issues.

Liking lower taxes doesn't make you anti union.
Liking the death penalty doesnt make you anti life.
Liking no death penalty doesnt make you pro crime.
Liking porn doesn't make you anti marriage.
Liking marriage doesn't make you anti people banging.

People can tee their arguments off whatever polarizing issue they want, it shouldn't be par for the course. Anti death penalty? Argue that shit on its own merits. Don't like taxes? Prove why. Pro life? Show it. 

But pro/anti-something and all you're going to do is say there's something better or worse? Take a mulligan.
