Calling him a writer was not correct but his writings and works were a major part of the film .

Glad we could clarify that ....  

First: provide a link to your quote.  I found it easily enough, but its good form.

Second:  Yes, Griffith put some placards in the beginning of the film that were quotes from Wilson's book (published a decade before becoming President).

Third: Later ( a decade AFTER the film) Wilson even admitted the KKK was vile:
