I took it a different way. The message he sent was that not all Republicans are like this, but the MAGA crew is, and the GOP needs to fix the problem. This puts the ball in the GOP court. Do they double down on the MAGA stuff or do they start to distance themselves? This also puts the attention of the independent voters onto the GOP to see how they react. In the end, though, how you view this is based on your preexisting biases.
