But in reality, criticizing our country in an effort to make it better is the most patriotic thing we can do, IMO. And until we can be honest with ourselves about why other cultures dislike us we're just a nation of asshats that will always be the focus of ire in the world.

They don't hate us for our freedom. They hate us because we are so big and powerful that we think we can tell everyone else what to do. They hate us because of our history of disposing popularly elected leaders and replacing them with dictators who support the interests of the United States.
