Biden and Trump at the border

This is an interesting shift in Trumpian politics, since he must be going for low-information independents now.  Normally he'd be secure in his ability to just say the border is a total wide open failure and get support regardless of what is actually being done about it.  Republicans are walking a line where they need to be able to admit they're stalling on purpose, but also for that not to hurt them with swing voters.

Seems to me that if republicans willingly don't do anything about the border any bad person who comes across who does bad stuff is like having a bunch of Willie Horton moments that can be held against you...though I guess they can just say it's a Willie Horton you can pin on the left.
