Who are you voting for?

Unless you live in a battleground state (which I know many of you do as Ohioans), your vote doesn't matter if it's not for the candidate of the party that runs the state. But even then, if you don't like either party party candidates, why cast a vote for either?

By your logic, a vote for a Republican in Maryland be just as useless as a vote for Gary Johnson. Anyone padding Romney's popular vote in Maryland didn't help him with electoral votes. At least you can make a statement by padding Johnson's numbers and showing Republicans that they could get that support by being more libertarian.

THANK YOU.   Additionally, when you vote for a 3rd party the popular vote counts towards reaching the 5% required to establish the party (Libertarian in this case) as a viable 3rd party and (lots of details here that I won't go into) for THAT reason voting for a 3rd party can count MORE than voting D or R.

Unless you live in Ohio or Florida there is a pretty good chance your vote for a D or R gets tossed into a giant vat and mixed in with the rest.  But hey, you have a better chance of "winning" right?  I don't see why people don't get this.

Is it just because he's a 3rd party?  Should people who voted for McCain and Romney feel like they should have voted for Obama since he won?  I just don't get the mindset. Even people who think voting for a 3rd party is a waste tend to agree with the notion of a 3rd option being a good idea...yet doing something to get to that point is seen as a stupid waste. Meh, this is exactly how the powers that be want people to feel.
