But like someone mentioned he wasnt even active every game. For comparison Shawn Williams is a guy we barely saw get any playing time. Only reason he was active was special teams. Until injuries happened he finally got extended playing time. Then all of sudden... You know what this guy is pretty good.
Guenthers comments make it seem if he doesnt really take the next step he is gone though. Clarke is beating him in the age department. So if it came down to it i think clarke has the upper hand. If Gilberry comes back I would say Hunt is gone. We should be drafting a DE at some point.
The problem with that comparison is that it's much easier to break into the rotation on the d-line than it is to get significant snaps at safety when you have a really good player ahead of you. The Bengals did give Hunt a decent shot in 2014, when he had 187 snaps in 12 games, but he only produced 9 tackles and 1 sack.
It is what it is.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
