Qweer is a generic term that means odd by definition.  I remember being a kid and my grandmother singing an old song that went as such:

If the words sound qweer and funny to your ear, a little bit jumbled and jivey,Sing "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy."


So, in my 6 year old mind it meant weird, or odd and my use of the word was not accepted in the 1940's context as I had expected.  Whoops!  Nothing like being accused of using a dirty word and spouting out the excuse "My grandmother taught me it!"
