You do realize that the vast majority of people making minimum wage are not supporting themselves or their families, right? You can lower minimum wage or eradicate it and things will most likely stay about the same as they are or possibly improve as their would be more jobs for those just entering the workforce or seeking to do something in their retirement meaning more people with disposable income meaning more purchases being exchanged meaning prices going down etc. etc.

Of course, I'm oversimplifying and there are more factors involved, but what I stated is about as likely to happen as all problems being solved by raising minimum wage to a livable wage.
